Insurance Issue - Pushing Me Around

I am currently dealing with my insurer on replacing a ring that went missing. I am working on finding something to replace it but now my insurer is pushing me and is threatening that if I don't find something to buy within the next week that they're just going to issue me a check for a cash payout (the cash payout being significantly less than if I get my ring replaced) and that's the end of it.

I just haven't found a replacement yet... which I explained!! Can they do that??? Anyone else had an experience like that? Advice? I'm not easily pushed around but I can't believe they're taking that stance!! I surely won't be insuring with them again :(
 
What is the ring you are replacing. What are they offering as a replacement value piece. And what is the cash out offer?

Ditto, and also how long has it been since you started the claims process with them? In other words, how long have you been looking for a replacement that they seem to deem is too long?
 
I'm sorry to hear this. Gosh, I wouldn't think so, but ditto SonnyJane, how long has it been since you opened the claim (maybe they're just trying to get this one off their books so to speak)??
