Inherited ring, need some information please.

Hi guys,
This is my first post here so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place and please feel free to put this in the correct place.

I inherited this ring from my Italian family who told me it has been passed down through generations, I have no other information only to keep it safe and keep the tradition going.
I've had a look on google but have no real idea where to start and can't find anything else like this, there are college rings that are similar but nothing exactly the same.

I would just love to know where this came from and what it is, if anybody can help I would really appreciate it.

I don't have any information for you, but you might consider searching european heraldic symbols and look for eagles with similar features.
