Based on the one pic, it looks like a centurion/roman soldier carving on hematite, set in yellow metal (likely 10kt or 14kt yellow gold) ... if you search on RubyLane for "roman soldier ring" you'll find quite a few comparables which seem to fall in the $300-$400 range
