Hi all,

First time poster here - I inherited this ring from my grandmother recently but don't know much about its history other than some stats from an appraisal: white gold illusion setting, 1.25 carat brilliant cut diamond, with 3 small diamonds on each side.

I love the ring - for its sentimental value AND style. Also helps that my SO and I no longer have to hunt for and buy a diamond and possibly a settling.

Does anyone know what time period this might have come from? or have any more info on the setting style?

Thanks.

Apologies for the low quality pictures.

I'm going to say early 1950s. That kind of plainer "thick" head seemed popular in that time. The '40s and '30s fishtails had a more sculptured look and triple prongs at the corners. Does that fit with when she got engaged?

I like illusion settings and fishtails, btw. Nice ring.

Thanks TC1987 - early 1950's is spot on, at least according to my dad! Unfortunately, I never discussed the ring with my grandmother before she passed away.
