I just found that there are some fog-like things from some view of my ring. Pictures are attached. Could these be some defects of the diamond or just some dirts attached to the pavilion? I have this question because I used Mr.Clean and soft toothbrush on the diamond but the look did not change. If they are just films on the pavilion surface, should they be seen from the table and the light performance be affected? Thanks for all your input in advance.

--Sorry about the title -- wanna write 'inclusion' or 'detects' but 'infection' came out

Pic from another angle. They should not be on the table, I think.

Hi Phocean,

Could you take it to a jeweller for a professional cleaning?

Sometimes a good steam cleaning makes a big difference.

Good luck!

I'd guess it's gunk on the pavilion that is hard to reach in that setting.

What is the clarity of the stone and which Lab graded it?
What kind of inclusions were mentioned on the report?

It is graded by AGS as a VS2. Several needles and crystals are under the table in the crown view plot (the inclusions are not that many from the plot view). Nothing is in the pavilion view plot. There are also nothing in the comments section.

Detritus on the diamond's pavilion can certainly be reflected around the inside. Additionally, any film on the diamond alters the way light normally interacts with it; muting the qualities diamonds are loved-for and possibly exaggerating what you're seeing now. See what a good pro cleaning does for it.

John, thanks for your reply. I will first do the cleaning at home again to see what happens and then get it pro cleaned if the DIY does not work out. Hope that will return me a sparkle stone.
