:kiss2:Hello and Happy Mother's Day to all!
I thought it would be fun to post pictures of our mother's and daughters (daughter in laws too) engagement rings.
My mom passed away in 2021 but I am wearing her ring today to think of her even more.
We have 3 daughters.. one married.. one engaged and one getting engaged very soon.
Here they are!
My mom's ring is a vintage Tiffany with an old cut stone worn with her vintage single cut eternity band.
Back the day (1955) Tiffany would set a diamond that wasn't theirs.
The stone was originally my grand mothers.
Daughter #1 - slight used Tiffany 1.7 carats.
Daughter #2 - 3 carat triple X round set on a dainty yellow gold band.
Daughter #3 - 3 carat cushion set on a platinum Tacori band.
Would love to see everyone else's! :kiss2:

Good morning Sharon!
Thanks so much for the sweet compliments. Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day too.
My mom had slightly bigger hands than me.. her rings are about a 5 so I put a twirly plastic sizer in the back of the ER and they fit perfectly now.
I don't usually wear them but yesterday was the perfect day.:D

What a beautiful collection of rings! You definitely raised your daughters with a good eye for jewellery :kiss2:

Happy Mothers Day to you over there!

Thank you so much Ally T!!! It's such a nice hobby to share with them. :kiss2:

Hmmm… nobody joined in… we could make it any jewelry from a mother figure in your life…

My maternal grandmother passed when I was young. She loved jewelry but did not have much money. I treasure everything I have from her, including costume jewelry. It does not matter how much it costs — it was worn by Grandma!

My mom had a similar looking engagement ring. She was quite a large lady and ever since I remember, her engagement ring was too small to take off. It just fit into the groove in her finger. Eventually she moved into a nursing home, where her ring that she couldn’t get off for 40+ years “fell down the drain.”

Mom visited the ER one day and they had to cut off her wedding band. I thought at least I’ll have the metal and diamonds from that, to make something special one day. I put it inside a ziplock bag and put that bag inside another ziplock bag full of things that need repairing or resetting. Now I can’t find it. I am crushed!

Mom did have a few other small pieces of fine jewelry. I am getting one reset and will post it here when it is done.

Ok, more people post!

My grandma's husband left her with two young children back in the days. As such she never had any nice jewellery so one year I decided to buy her something little.

The ring has two bigger centre stones representing her two daughters, then there's 4 smaller side stones representing her grandchildren and I can't remember but it was something like 8 tiny diamonds representing her great grandchildren.

How sweet and special!

@oncrutchesrightnow I absolutely love that you treasure the pieces that your mom and grandma passed down to you.
I hope hope hope that you are able to find that ziploc bag!!

This year for Mother's Day I decided to buy rings for myself and my daughters! All three of us got the same ring in rose gold, because my eldest daughter only wears rose gold! It is the first piece of jewelry in rose gold for me and my youngest daughter! So now we've got the circle of rings and we are all interconnected through bling (among other things!).
I've got photos only of myself and my youngest wearing our new rings right now!

I love this story! I have a similar one. Years ago my grandma asked me even my long time partner and I were going to get married. I never wanted to marry him (that should have been a clue we weren't a good match!) But I always loved jewelry and wanted a nice diamond and band stack. So she told me to go buy one for myself. She said to check pawn shops or antique stores etc. I hadn't ever considered that before, so I did!!! I bought a 1ct vs1 princess cut solitaire that I loved! And grandma bought me a little channel set band to go with it.

She mentioned that she always wanted a diamond but never got one. She was married 2x with 8 kids and the kind of woman/wife men would line up for. She was a gem and loved by everyone! My mom and I find a little 0.5ct round vvs2 in a 6prong setting on marketplace and have it to her for mother's day 10 years ago. My grandma has passed away now my mom has the ring but I'll be giving it to one of my girls.

I have 5 daughters. I've been collecting diamond rings for them (well, for me but I have a daughter in mind to pass each one onto)

@thisismyname
What a wonderful story about your sweet grandma and I love that you have 5 daughters each with their name on a ring for them in the future. Very special.

Aww @thisismyname that's such a beautiful story and it's a reminder of how selfless our Nanas are. They didn't get diamonds and yet they would buy it for us. I love the sentiment behind jewellery and gift giving. It warms my heart. And your daughters are so lucky to have you. I'm one of three and I'm sure my mother hasn't thought of collecting anything with us in mind. I have a daughter and I'm slowly collecting things with her in mind.

:wavey:Hi @Tonks!! So sorry it took me a while to get back to you.. we were away.
I absolutely ADORE your mother/daughter bracelet combos.
Sharing the love of each other AND jewelry is the BEST!!!
