of the halo diamonds? If not, then if the halo diamonds are F/G, how high can I go with the color in the center stone before you can begin to see the difference.

No need to match. I believe the advice most given is 1-2 color grades either way of the center stone, though I think some have gone even more. So with F/G melee, you could do D-E, H-I on the center stone without any worry.

When mounted you can''t really tell the difference.

I have the tiffany legacy and I was told that the side stones are G, my ring is H. Can''t tell the difference at all.

I don''t think the average wearer would be able to notice 2-3 color grades.

Personally my antique cushion is an M and the Vatche setting is somewhere around F. I like the contrast and it''s not as noticeable as you''d think.

I agree with the posts above - 2 to 3 color grades higher or lower will not be too noticeable.

Having said that, some people opt to have a striking contrast between their center stone and melee to define the center stone and make it pop. Having the center stone and melee be similar in color, on the other hand, tends to make the center diamond blend with the melee thus giving the illusion of a much bigger center diamond.
