...you want to buy an emerald cut diamond about 1.0 carats, about an E or F color and about a VVS2 - VS1. What other dimension ranges would only be acceptable to you? What I mean is:

Depth =
Table =
Girdle =
Polish/Symmetry =
Crown =

The reason I ask is that I''m becoming overly confused and trying to find what I''m willing to sacrifice to get the best value for my dollar (or many dollars!! LOL).

Any feedback would be appreciated...thanks in advance!

sorry, i''m no help....
fancies are tough to buy sight unseen. of course there are "preferred" parameters, but is that what looks good to your eye? your best option is to look at as many ec''s as you can. get a good idea of what proportions you do and don''t like in a stone, that way you can know better what it is your eye is looking for. best of luck to you!!

btw, you might want to pm windowshopper, she recently purchased a beautiful ec and could probably help you out.

Thanks for your suggestions...I just did a search on ECs here and it seems that is is one of the hardest stones to come up with any firm stats. I see ranges and personal preferences, but nothing more than that....I guess that I''ll just have to look until I find "the one" that makes my setting shine!!!

PS...I wish I could be rich too so I wouldn''t have to worry about trying to find the "perfect" stone!

The TCW for both rings is 1.23carats...I tried this set on and couldn''t take it off!! I just "knew" I had to have this set (and we got it for a song and a dance!)!! Now I have to find the EC stone that will make this set shine!!!

Is it awful that I try it on at least once a day for the heck of it? I can''t wear it like it is...it''s so sad!!
