My neighbors will NOT stop playing their music. I come home for lunch and BOOM BOOM BOOM At night BOOM BOOM BOOM during the weekends BOOM BOOM BOOM AAAAHHHHHHH :angryfire:

No I haven't talked to them. Most people like that just play it louder if somebody says something. I should have known that renting a nice house across the street from a trailer park would be a bad move - maybe they'll move  .

eta: I feel worse for the neighbor across the street. Their house blocks our view, but they have full view from their backyard. It's an ugly run down park of about 10 trailers across the street from an elementry school. All the other houses in the area are nice so it just seems odd to be sitting there

Well, you are in a good position right now because if you call the police, the neighbors won't know it was you! Don't most town have noise ordinances?

Only after 10pm which they never play after 10pm and I'm in bed by then anyway :cheeky: I'm going to talk with my other neighbor to see if we can file a Noise Polution complaint. I'm a bit scared of that park too. I feel it's judgemental, but people drinking and smoking on the porch with loud music in wife beater shirts freak me out :? My rational brain says that obviously there are no hard criminals since they would be allowed to live across the street from an elementry school. Which brings the thought, why hasn't the school said something? Maybe they have? That's not a good influence for the kids.

Good idea to talk to your other neighbor about this, especially if they have lived in their house for a while and can give you some insight on how long the loud music has been a problem (i.e., is this a new issue or one that's been allowed to go on for months, years). Also, I'd give the school administrator's office a call to find out if they have had problems with noise coming from the trailer park and if they've filed any complaints. Also, give your local city/county representative a call and let them know there's a problem, tell them that you are new to the neighborhood and would like to know if any complaints have been filed with the city and/or the police. And after gathering some information, I'd approach the police (as a neighborhood group, if possible) about working out some solution.

You can find your city/county representative on your city or town's webpage. You vote for them; it is their job to take your concerns seriously and answer your questions.

Also, you might want to contact the city assessor's office and find out who owns the property that the trailers are on. Most trailer owners do not own the land, only the trailer, and some rent both the trailer and the land from an owner. Property owners have a responsibility to keep their property up to certain minimum standards, whether it be trash, noise, etc.

Can you tell I've dealt with problem neighbors before?
