I''m engaged... now here''s my ring with a teensy bit of pumpkin goo

So my fiance (HAH) proposed this past weekend while we were carving pumpkins. Oh-so-sweet in my opinion since that was one of the things we did our first date a long time ago... It wasn''t crazy romantic and over the top or even that fancy, but perfect -- down to earth, private and unique.

My man went through Whiteflash (thank you Lesley!) and came up with this... which I absolutely love! I''m working on more (cough, better!) pictures of my ring... it deserves it!

And yes, the diamond is in desperate need of cleaning... it''s maybe got some pumpkin goo still on it : )

Hello everyone : )

Yes, I''m NAUGHTY with pumpkin goo, but I wasn''t thinking about it I was so excited... so my poor ring is looking a little dull until the magic Sharper Image package shows up at my door ; )

The ring is a size 5, though I might need to get sizing beads or something to tighten the fit up a bit... it''s definetly twirling!

I love the sapphire/diamond combination too... I helped plan out the general idea of the ring then left it up to my guy... and he did marvelous (at least I think so)...

The proposal itself was a complete surprise - I mean he had me a bit shocked at first because I had no idea it was coming then! Go him... The fact that he would propose (um, eventually) was known to me (wouldn''t want to be surprised by that part of it!)

Details of the proposal? Not too complicated... We drove out to this awesome farm stand run by friends of friends of friends where we got a bunch of apples, pumpkins, etc... went home, made applesauce (yeah, we''re dorky, what can I say) and then carved our pumpkins... He was done cleaning his pumpkin out and while I was paying attention to our cat who was eating something he shouldn''t have... he placed the ring in its box in the pumpkin than said somehting sneaky like "honey, what the heck is that??" so i come over oblivious, take a look (expecting a bug or mold, or somehting totally gross or wierd... and there''s my freakin ring! Then he just asks plain and simple "Will you marry me?" He totally got me! And I love surprises : )

Anyhow... we''d already agreed to go to dinner with some friends and family that night so we had a bunch of our closest people to go celebrate with afterwards! we headed to an awesome new restaurant here in boston... scrumpious food! that''s about it : )
