I''m considering this particular stone (even though it''s an I1) because it looks pretty nice under the virtual scope. There''s a hearts image that seems okay to me (of course, I''m no expert). There''s a feather near the corner but that doesn''t bother me. It''s the obvious carbon spots right in the center of the stone that bother me. I''m looking at I1s because our budget for the stone is $2,500 and I like the size of (.80-1.0 carat stones) With that being said, this particular one seems to be nice. Tell me what you think...

I will take a look for you and let you know what I think about the cut of the diamond presently, but as a multiple I1 owner myself, if the diamond is eyeclean to your standards and you are ok with an I clarity grade then I don't see any reason why not. I would add though if you aren't the intended wearer of the ring and it is intended for an engagement ring, make sure the wearer is ok with I clarity.

It looks like a very nice diamond, check it is eyeclean to your standards by asking the vendor and check that the cavity and the feather isn't a potential durability issue too, ask one of the gemologists to inspect the diamond for you.

when you say durability issue, does that mean future potential cracks?

Some might be a problem, so ask the gemologist.

It depends, not normally so much in reliably graded I1 but an I1 cavity and feather certainly warrant checking in case of potential durability issues. Request one of James Allen's gemologists evaluate this diamond carefully for you both to ensure it is eyeclean to your standards and that the cavity and feather aren't of particular vulnerability.
