when my FI bought my e-ring he just got this "certificate", i want to know how can I get the complete info on my diamond..

Do I have to pay something?

How do I know what kind of cut do I have?

You could take it to an appraiser-just check at the top of the page under ''resources'' and look for a local appraiser. Do you know where the stone is from? Do you like it?

igi doesn''t do any cut grading. if you *really* want to know what kind of cut you have, you would have to have an independent appraisal done. preferrably by someone who at least has a sarin machine and is up to date on cut standards.

at this point though, with the stone already mounted, it is probably best to just enjoy your diamond for what it is (whatever that may be!)

IGI have been one of the first labs to give table size, crown height and paviilion depth all in %''s.
They were also one of the first to bring European based proportion grading to the world that many people think is redundant today. AGS used this parametrical format until last year.
Your stone will not be "super ideal", but it has a high probability of being very bright - like what I call a BIC - brilliant ideal cut - you can search that term here.
it has a bigger than usual diameter or spread that is probably accompanied by a slightly lower crown angle and a largish table.

Use an appraiser if you need to know more, or just enjoy it :-)

Garry thanks a lot for the info!!!
