If you won $10k to a jewelry store...

A jewelry store near me is giving away a $10k gift certificate this month. I entered myself... AND FI for good measure.

So the question is.. what would you get?

My first thought was, $10k could buy some pretty big studs

..

And then I thought I should also get FI a watch. And my mom some earrings. Or maybe just get my wedding band

The absolutely gorgeous blue sapphire and diamond ring my jeweler has. It''s an oval, 5 carat stunner of a certed sapphire with 1.5 carats in diamonds. Huge and totally not me but I.WANT.IT!

Now, who''s going to give me the rest of the money for it?

I would get some nice studs. Also some nice diamond hoops. That should spend it nicely.

Not that I am selfish, but DH does not want any jewlery, has two nice watches and no one else would appreciate it like I would.

Well, my mother doesn''t care for jewelry, and DH doesn''t llike to wear a watch, so hey - that leaves $10 for me haha.

I''d get a rhr of some sort. DD got beautiful diamond studs when she was born, which I''ve put away for her, so I''d probably get her a pendant to match them too.

What a fun dream! I think I would get some sort of diamond pendant (I can never decide between a RB and a pear) and maybe the other half on larger studs.

My custom wedding band for starters. I''d probably have DH pick out a nice watch for himself and with whatever was left I''d get a pair of studs or at least put some $$ down on a pair of studs.

Hmm definitely some studs, but I don''t like very big studs so I''m sure that wouldn''t be anywhere near 10K. Probably look and see if I found a setting I liked to put my future GOG OMC in (one of these days...) and if there was any money left after those two purchases maybe a pretty colored stone pendant with diamond halo.

I''d buy a .75 stone and have it set in WG and get a simple wedding band to match it. That way I''d have two wedding sets and can alternate them. If there was any money left over, I''d also get a half eternity band.

I''m happy with my current studs. I would like a pair of bezels. . .but would wait on those.

And yes, I''d spend it all on me. Dh doesn''t like jewelry and I do not have any family who shares my passion for diamonds.

After years of being married to my dad, mom is pretty set jewelry-wise, and my husband really doesn''t care that much (well, yes and no: funnily enough, earlier today I reminded him that he''d initially wanted to get a new wedding band for the 5 year anniversary and he looked at me like I was crazy ... so maybe it comes and goes) ... so I think the budget would pretty much be on me! That said, I''d want to use it to get something for my dad -he likes the shiny almost as much as I do. I could probably blow it all on an Omega watch and call it a day ... but if there was any left over, I''d be seriously tempted by diamond pear dangles to match my upcoming pendant.

My DH only wears his titanium (titanium WB, ttanium necjlace, titanium bracelet, and titanium citizen watch), so he doesn''t need anything else, and I''ve decked out my mom pretty good. I think I''d get a new 1/4ct diamond for MIL (her e-ring is very badly chipped), and a bezel diamond bracelet for me. Maybe a few gemstone stacking bands if anything was left after those...
