What are 3 things that you would start doing on weekends or Holidays?

I thought we needed a fun conversation going. :twirl:

Fly to Paris for dinner (I live in the midwest). But the Concord is no longer flying, so I guess for comfort's sake I'd need to buy a private jet for these jaunts.

More like if I had the time...

But if I had the time and the money, I would:

1. Buy gourmet food and delicious wine and cook big meals for our friends and family.
2. Go to great shows -- preferably comedy.
3. Donate more time to volunteering and more money to those in need.

I would go to way more concerts, and more sporting events. I love hockey, and I live about an hour and a half from both an NFL team and NHL team. There's also a minor league baseball team in the same town, but I'm not a huge fan of baseball. I think that's one sport that could use some steroid use :)

I would also hire a cleaning service, so that I could cook huge amazing meals for my family, and then not have to clean up after myself :)

Travel (first class or by private jet, clearly :naughty:)

Go out to really nice restaurants

Either do Crossfit or have sessions with a personal trainer

Under specific circumstances...I have flown to Paris for a weekend before (from Texas)! I need to go back for longer.

I would definitely go somwehere "out of town" every weekend if I could. I also wouldn't mind if that somewhere were somewhere I had a house!

I'd go to a CRAZY, AWESOME restaurant each weekend!

Let me think about another....

I've had to think about my own question. But I've decided on the following. (conveniently consolidated into 3 things!)

1. I would take my children and husband to amazing shows, ballets, operas, etc. I'd also include art, cooking, martial arts and any other things I find interesting. Obviously I'd rent out the entire venue so my children wouldn't bother other people and we could call time out when a diaper change or a walk is necessary.

2. I would take my husband to great concerts (he's really not going to enjoy the ballets and operas!), followed by steamy hotel room nights. (around the world of course)

3. The last thing I'd do is build homes for those in need. I don't mean just put up the funds, but actually partake in the design, construction, landscaping.

If I had the money I would:

Go to more concerts.

Travel more, especially to beautiful places around the country. I'd like to go back to Sanibel Island, Tennessee, San Francisco, Texas, England, and I'd like to see Africa, Italy, Oregon, Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, New York City, Savannah GA, Key West, The Bahamas, Brazil..... Hawaii...

Eat out as often as humanly possible. I LOVE testing new foods, and what better way to do it than to test new eats too?

I would buy my own billiards table in less time that in takes to blink: that, right there, would suit my weekends nicely.

(The accompanying paraphernalia, from book-lined study to delicate crystal snifters meant to hold my collection of fine brandies go unsaid, of course.)

Get a bigger place so I could garden more.

Design more jewelry to give away to friends and family (I already do some of this, but it sure would be nice to get rid of budget as a constraining factor...).

Wow, those are the exact 3 things I would have said!!!!! Maybe along with #1 I'd need to hire some help to clean up after me because I love to cook, but hate to clean up. Dh and I love Comedy, in fact, I'm planning an improv night for next weekend's date night! As for #3, I'd love to financially support more people with the heart for missions.

Have private yoga lessons
go back with my personal trainer
install a lap pool in my basement

Sneak attack people and get them out of debt without them knowing it was me.
Travel constantly, I want to see the world and chat to everyone I can, people fascinate me.

* Tennis lessons & court time
* Maybe get a show dog &, um, show it!
* Learn to fly a plane
* Buy a boat!
* Weekly massages
* Visit far flung family & friends
* Support a local food bank & a local family assistance org & a local no kill shelter

-Travel! Everywhere, I want to see SO many things, so many places!

-Fund a kitty shelter - completely, if needed. The local no-kill shelter is shutting down b/c of lack of funding, and it's heartbreaking :(sad

We never vacation. In 11 years we've been on two vacations. Each three days in length. We didn't have a honeymoon either. So... I'd love to go on a vacation/honeymoon. I just so want one. Even more than BLING. :o Doesn't have to be super expensive. I'd be VERY happy to drive to Tahoe for a long weekend or go to down to Big Sur. Of course if I had the money, I'd love to go to Mexico and stay at Grand Vellas in Nuevo Vallarta. For 7 days. Since we're dreaming.

Fund a cat sanctuary-- cageless and with an outdoor feral area, at least an acre.

I can't think of anything else. That's really all I want these days.

Gypsy, ever think of houseswapping vacations?

Great idea!

I would get a partial lease on a horse. I don't think I have time to own a horse outright, but a lot of barns will let you partially lease, which means you bay part of the boarding fee and get to ride the horse a few days a week (usually you share with with someone else, or it works as a lesson horse the other days). I would do this in a heartbeat if I had the money and I'd be out there every weekend.

I would give as much money as I could to animal groups dedicated to saving homeless animals and finding them deserving homes.
I would give as much time as I could to volunteering for these groups and lastly I would do what I could to further animal rights in this country as I think it is a crime that they are treated as property and not living beings.

That is wonderful. Not sure if you ever heard of the Peace Plantation in upstate NY but they are a lovely organization dedicated to giving homes to animals that might never get adopted and they have lots of space to be free. Love them!

I would get away on weekends more. There are so many great places to visit in the UK (and Europe) and I should get around and see them

I would buy a bike so I can go cycling with the children. I don't spend enough time outside with them.

I would have all the gadgets that would make cooking for my family easier and more enjoyable. I really REALLY want a Kitchenaid Mixer!

If I had the money....

I'd go for massages and manicures every week! Multiple massages! I want to feel like I don't have any bones all the time. I always want to treat myself but when it comes down to it, I convince myself that the money could be better spent. Darn me and my maturity.

Food! Trying new restaurants all the time, flying in my private jet to new places to try restaurants. Yum.

I'd want to treat my family and friends. I'd pay off loans, mortages, cars, take them on vacation, that sort of thing.

Oh to be a millionaire. ::)

I would have a second home for both summer and winter excursions. That would take care of a major wish that'll likely never happen at this point. Ever. :knockout: Ideally it would be a very quiet place with a lake and woods.

I would travel. I live in the midwest and have never been anywhere even remotely interesting. Since funds wouldn't be an issue I'd hire a nanny to come along so DH and I could enjoy some time together :naughty:

I would also help family and friends with their debts.

No, I haven't. What are they? I can't imagine anyone wanting to stay at La Casa Gypsy with all the cats. I love them, but they are mine.

1. Go shopping

2. Travel the world on mini breaks

3. Spoil my DH with anything he wanted - as long as it didn't involve a stripper. :rodent:

A cat shelter would be wonderful. There is one by me and they bring a vet in once a week and he/she neuters/spays 40+ feral cats per week. I decided to get my current cat fixed there. They don't charge, but do accept donations and I thought I'd rather have my $ go to help fund them than to pay a vet, so that was a great decision.

If I had the funds, I'd love to help them out more. Seeing all those feral cats caged up was horrifying. They all were matted and had their ears bleeding from the clipping done (to indicate they're fixed stray cats) and among them, was my sleek black cat who looked all healthy and happy. It was weird to see the contrast. The staff was so happy to fix my cat and they all knew who he was b/c he was the only cat who didn't attack them...I guess the wild ones claw at them and bite, etc.

Anway...I'd love to help with that!

Months back I would say eat out more...but we've cut back and now when I look at most resturants, I get grossed out thinking of all the junk that is put in the food...sodium & MSG.

One enjoyable activity is going to movies. Travel too, but with young kids, it'd be a lot of simple places like Disneyland. My kids are still too young for us to take to Europe and have a good time. I'd be more focused on tending to them.. Oh, wait, we got a ton of $. We'll bring the nanny! lol

I'd love to work on restoring/decorating a fabulous house. Guess that would be my other thing!
