I hope that I am in the right place. We purchased a car from an auction and while cleaning it, found a nice ring. It's 10K gold as per marking. I'm pretty sure that it has real diamonds as they are small. I'm not sure how many carats. But the top of the ring is white gold and the ring itself is yellow gold. I'm trying to find some place that can tell me more about it. Not sure if it's antique, or new. I have pictures, not sure if anyone here can tell me more about it? It's a really nice piece, I think. :) I have no plans on selling it. It would be nice to know value but not because I want to sell it, but just for my own information.

Here are pictures:

From a photo, it's impossible to tell you whether the diamonds are real or any value. You'd have to take it to an appraiser for that. Since it's only 9 ct. gold, & they're very small, it's possible the stones aren't terrifically valuable if they are genuine at all.

Have you thought of trying to return it to the car's previous owner? Maybe through whoever sold it to you? Somebody may be missing it. Whether or not it has any monetary worth, it could mean a lot to someone from a sentimental viewpoint. It was probably left in the car by accident.

Good luck.

I have tried to find the owner. Unfortunately, it was a dealer that sold it in the auction. I got the dealer's name and they said that they couldn't give me any information on who previously owned it, even after I told them why. The auction gets cars from dealers from hundreds of miles away. So it could be from anywhere. I did tell them that if they get a call from someone who lost a ring in a car, to give them my number. I have not heard anything of yet and it's been a month.
