Ideas for OEC earrings

I have an antique toi et moi ring with 2 well matched 5.8mm OECs. I never wear it and I am thinking about what to do with it. I really hate to take it apart but also hate to have it sit in a jewelry box. I already have studs but I was thinking about a dangly pair of earrings, a bit flirtier than studs. Maybe emerald target dangles? Anyone want to help with ideas?

I am not set on earrings but they are so well matched that it seems that's what they are meant for.

What about a dormeuse style? That would fit the oec style.

I love the idea of emerald target earrings. Wonder how expensive it would be to get the emeralds since you would probably have to get custom cut for you.
What about getting some small single cuts and making flower dangles?

I have to really think hard about using CS. I love to look at them but I never seem to wear them. But it may just be CS rings that I don't like to wear. Earrings I think would be ok. I found a few pics. What do yall think of these?

Do yall think single cuts would work for the cluster or do they need to be OEC melee?

I like the octagon target. This could be made into earrings.

I think single cuts would be fine! Those would be stunning!

I also love the octagon but if the colored stone issue makes you think you might not wear them then I might not go that route.

How about something like these. I think the vintage buttercup setting goes well with OEC diamonds.

Yasss to OEC dangles. I vote for dangles that articulate and move vs being fixed. Feels more flirty and feminine when they articulate and also shows their beauty off better IMO.

Here are a few ideas.

You mentioned emerald target dangles...here is a similar idea with rubies. Just switch the emeralds for the rubies and I bet it would be emeraldlicious with your emeralds and OECs.



And a simple but a goodie OEC dangle pair.

I love the simple 2 stone drops but I think mine may be too small for that. I want some kind of halo (target or cluster) dangles. They can't be super "frilly" either. I like the ruby targets!

You're very welcome! There are many more fab ideas in the thread I linked above. I think it is going to be a gorgeous pair whatever you decide to do. You cannot go wrong with OEC dangles IMO.

I think my drops are smaller than your OECs even but you are right they are quite delicate and petite. I do love them though it might not be the look you are after. A better perspective shot for you and next to a tape measure so you can get an idea of the size.

I went to bed dreaming of this as earrings. Single cuts for the diamond halo, possibly the bezel around the center stone in yg. I need to figure out the actual hook. Leaning toward the single stone like @missy's ruby target earrings. I have no idea what the cost will be. Yikes, I fear it could be a lot!

Thanks! I don't wear it because I think it is too much when I wear my ering. I wear either a band stack or a 5 stone as a rhr and that's my limit, lol. I would try to sell the setting. It's just sad to me though. I even have full provenance for it so that makes the guilt worse! DH wants me to save it intact for one of my daughters. Still thinking about it...

I think sapphire would be nice with the white metal (plat?) and would stay true to the feel of the time period. If not, save the setting and your daughter can decide what she likes when she’s older. She may even want to do a moi et toi with her and her future spouse’s birthstones (assuming they both have nice birthstones )

The daughter who would get this is an April/diamond baby so at least one stone would be good!
