I don't own a H&A stone. Actually, I don't really own a substantial MRB at all! I'm much more familiar with the older cuts, so I'd like to ask the resident experts here what they think about this Idealscope. I've run the necessary numbers through the HCA and got a 1.1, so I suppose that's good (or perhaps more accurately, not bad).

I'm not sure, but this photo doesn't look all that hot to my very novice eyes.

It's got something not great going on under the table. Darkness. It also looks like it was perhaps tilted when the photo was taken and if that's the case the IS might just need to be retaken.

Thanks, Gypsy - was wondering if it was tilted as well. JA has relatively short hold periods on stones and this is a chunk of change - not something I want to rush into. Also not a stone I want to miss out on if the IS actually is ok, you know? :errrr:

Anyone else have an opinion? Is the table darkening a serious concern?

I've emailed JA again to see if they think the stone was tilted or wonky.

M IS image from JA wasn't great IMO either, it looked to me like there may have been some leakage under the table and had to ask for opinions here, I also had the GG re evaluate the stone next to another stone with ideal proportions and he felt that the optics of my stone were fantastic. I won't get to see for myself for another week or so, but it does seem that JA may have some issues taking an IS.
