First off, let me start by saying that if I had never came across this site I would not be getting the absolute best diamond I could afford. I am an analytical person by nature and all of the awesome info on this site has allowed me to set my mind at ease. Here is where I am today, I have an idealscope of a GIA excellent cut, vg polish and symmetry. What do ya''ll think? It looks like it has a little light leakage throughout and a lot of fire..

While I''m at it, does anyone have any suggestions for a stone? I would like a H or better color, eye clean SI1, with a spread of around 6.15mm.. All for a modest budget of $2700 for the stone. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

IS looks good.

The IS looks good, but I would want all the specs on it before commenting one way or the other.

Yep, can you post the full specs please, depth, table, angles and so on?

Table-59%
Depth-60.3%
Crown angle-34
Pavilion angle-40.8

I don''t want to give out to much of the unique information because I don''t want someone snagging it out from under me.. Thanks for any and all input.

Could someone please list the good and/or bad attributes of the IS image? I''m trying to learn why the IS looks good.

Lots of red = good light return, minimal white = minimal leakage, nice symm black, not overwhelming = good contrast. Personally prefer a thicker arrow shaft but that is just my taste.

Here's a link that might help you understand them.

As for the proportions, the cut of the stone is geared a bit more toward brilliance (white light/sparkle), little less on fire (colored light/sparkle). They can be very pretty, but it's a matter of whether you would like that, or would prefer a stone with a more equal amount of both.

That goes to show just how much I actually don''t know about diamonds. I thought since the IS had bigger areas of black between the arrow heads it would promote the fire and sparkle of the stone. What proportions should I be looking around for a good mix of both the fire and brilliance?

Is this stone not a good one to pursue? The main thing I am looking for when my FF wears this diamond is for sparkle while she is moving her hand around in the sunlight to catch the attention of others.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a stone with the parameters that I listed above?

This is a good stone.

Maybe you should give us you requirement and budget before we can suggest a stone?

Forgot what I said, should have re-read first post again.

It's not that it's not a good stone, just different. Since this is your/her first diamond, I would recommend a more balanced stone. These types of stone are usually a personal preference, and not for everyone.

I'd be happy to look, what's your top budget for the stone only? Is it 2700?

The diamond looks good - you could reduce the table size a little ( 54 - 57%) as an example and maybe raise the crown angle a tad ( 34 - 34.5 degrees with GIA numbering and a similar pavilion angle), however this diamond has excellent proportions and should be a beautiful sparkly rock.
