First off - this website is amazing.

Secondly, I am not an expert nor do I consider myself to be close to it. I just purchased an SE and was curious how to read this IS image??

Please share your thoughts as I am concerned that some parts are dark.

Sure looks like a super stone to my eyes!

that looks like a beauty! don''t worry...dark is good, it will give contrast to your stone. white or very light mean leakage.
would you mind sharing the stats?
....maybe the natural pic?

You've received good info.

The dark areas in an ideal-scope image are places where light rays would normally be picked up and reflected back from directly overhead. Since the camera blocks that direct-overhead light they go dark. In a live situation it is known as 'head shadow.'

Info here from the creator of ideal-scope.

Thank you so much for the insight (no pun intended).

Looks great!!!

W-O-W. I''ve been doing quite a bit of looking for Asscher/Sq Em & that is a beaut!!! Could you share which vendor produced that ''un for ya? (non-Southern translation ... Where''d you get that honker?)

LOL decodelighted, Bob @ Whiteflash.com, and he was truly amazing over there.

Not only was the transaction smooth and the customer service extraordinary, but they also reflected a strong work ethic which is hard to come by these days. I highly recommend them.

And no I am not affiliated with them in anyway, just a happy customer.
