Hi, which is better, an ideal cut with higher HCA score or a H&A cut (for instance, 1 vs 1.6)? Which one will you pick and why? Thanks.

The HCA should be used as a rejection tool, not a selection tool. HCA scores of 2 and under need to be evaluated using other criteria, and not ranked by their HCA scores. It does not matter if one diamond has an HCA of 1 and another of 1.6. Both are worthy of further consideration.

ditto
HCA and H&A's gives a good degree of saftey, but sometimes a higher cost for what can be a mind issue rather than a visible one.

Also, there are many types of symmetry for a RB and I think they look totally different, so it's a matter of preference.

I personally prefer h&a symmetry because I like the contrast. I might feel differently about diamond studs. It depends.

Among all rounds for solitare rings, I might plunk down for a AVR (or a similarly styled OEC) which is round, but not a RB.
