I'd like a ring just like this. Where can I actually get it?

Not sure, but that's a pretty cool idea!

Don't buy from Amazon. What is your total budget including center stone?

Hi Gypsy,
Around $3,500

Re: I'd like a ring just like this. Where can I actually get

You aren't likely to get that for 3,500. At least not in those proportions. That's a one carat stone. Which will cost about 5500 and that setting costs about 1200.

But we can get you something nice, with an emerald cut and a nice setting with sidestones. But with different proportions.

Nicest stone I found: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/0.70-carat-d-color-vs2-clarity-sku-207178
Second choice: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/0.73-carat-h-color-vs2-clarity-sku-222042
Third choice: http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/emerald-cut/0.83-carat-g-color-si1-clarity-sku-265292 if eyeclean (ask first)

Put all three on hold (no cost, no obligation) and ask for an ASET image of each. Then post back in this thread when you have the images, we'll help you chose one (James Allen's gemologists have weird things they like in Emerald Cuts sometimes so we often don't listen to them).

Once you have the best stone of the three, you can buy it and put it in this setting: http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/side-stones/14k-white-gold-tapered-baguette-diamond-engagement-ring-item-7101 Which they can order for an emerald cut.

All three stones in that setting will result in a gorgeous ring, within budget that the wearer will be proud to have. :wavey:

If you read the amazon page carefully it's 1.23 ctw, and the center stone is 0.51 ct :o

Don't know where you are but that jeweler is in India. Here is the website: http://www.chandnijewellers.com/contact.php
I went to Whiteflash.com and recreated something similar for $3100. Center was .70 but setting had less carat weight.
Am sure all the other vendors here could get you similar as well.

Re: I'd like a ring just like this. Where can I actually get

I am thinking that setting or something very similar should be available from Adwar or Stuller or other major casting house. Thus available to just about any jeweler. Pick you center stone, then work with that jeweler.

The first bridal set you linked appears to have what is called a peg head. The head and the ring are separate components, and thus it's possible to mount a head for any shape of diamond onto that same ring. The second one appears to have a backed head, a "built-in." Those are both wedding sets, where the wedding band is created to be an exact match to the engagement ring.

The first set has straight baguettes and rounds. The second one has tapered baguettes.

Re: I'd like a ring just like this. Where can I actually get

Thank you all very much. Ring shopping is overwhelming for a noob like me. I don't know what terms to search for etc. I know what my girls wants, and I want to get it for her :)

Those are some awesome diamonds you picked out Gypsy; for some reason my eye likes the 3rd one the best!
This is probably a silly questions, but the two 'things' on the side of the diamond.... those aren't 2 more diamonds? Just the gold cut/shaped that way? At first glance it looks like 2 more diamonds, but not exactly emerald cut... it's a very long and skinny cut.

Thanks rockhoundofficiando; I typically went to Jared, Kay, Blue Nile, etc. and couldn't find anything like it.

Thanks TC1987, those are the kind of terms I needed to know to start searching for myself. I like the double ring (bridal set) - and so did she.

Those "things" on the setting are the bars that hold the baguettes in place. Look at the castings that I link to, below.

Adwar's site is so hard for me to navigate through. Maybe the jewelers have a paper catalog and/or an inside track that makes settings easier to find? But here are a couple of examples that I was able to find at adwar.com.
Adwar
shank for peg head, 2 tapered baguettes 17588L http://www.adwar.com/products/styles/17588L/view
(There is no doubt a matching wedding band for that.)

shank for peg head, has 4 tapered baguettes and 2 rounds 17604L http://www.adwar.com/products/styles/17604L/view

Re: I'd like a ring just like this. Where can I actually get

The two settings you linked to both have baguettes. The first one has straight, the second has tapered.

Maybe the jewelry stores re just carrying the more trendy styles in your area.

The second ring that you linked is truly a classic style that never goes out of style. I've seen it called a "Harry Winston style" but I admit I don't know the history behind that.

The first set is a bit more contemporary because it combines a pair of rounds with the baguettes.

I couldn't find the exact styles that you wanted in the Adwar online site, but I feel certain that they are buried in there someplace. LOL Always takes such an effort to find things in there.

Re: I'd like a ring just like this. Where can I actually get

Here's a setting that's very similar to the second set you posted. I see sites referring to these as baguettes and bar style.

That one has the head integrated with the shank. It can either be cast as one piece, or the jeweler solders a basket style rectangular head into the shank. There's no peg, so the advantage is that the stone is mounted a bit lower and there;s no gap between shank and head.

The first style you posted, the links I posted, and the James Allen ring that Gypsy posted are all peg head settings, where the peg-mounted head can be removed and replaced as needed to whatever shape of diamond you have.
I tried to upload pics but got a server error from PS.
