Wait did you buy that or you were perving at it????

It's beautiful! I'm not a blue girl but that's beautiful and it's huge! I couldn't care less if there's a star! I don't think it needs the star!

Is the last pic of it under UV light??? Omg I love the glow!!!!!!!!

No the last pic is just taken in dim light and a penlight shining on the ring. Yes I got it after much hesitation… but such a dreamy color right? More pics after I get it back from resizing.

It's beautiful and incredibly clean!!! At that size too!!!

I can't even begin to imagine how much a faceted stone that big would cost!

@icy_jade: that is an unbelievably beautiful sapphire! The blue and transparency is perfection and I love that the star is shy sometimes.

I have no idea, it takes a while. I’m guessing before Christmas but honestly don’t know. Might even be before next CNY. Which is fine. I need time to recover.

And a dreamy blue star sapphire… weak star but so clear and I love the color.

Wow! The colour! And the clarity! It's amazingly saturated for a star sapphire. (Most are closer to denim blue. Very few will stand up against a good faceted sapphire, as in your comparison pic.) I love it!

Prices for faceted sapphires are ridiculously high at the fair…

Thank you! I love the dreamy blue color, not so much the shy star but I guess there is always a trade off between translucency and star strength.

Nono it doesn’t glow lol. Just when I put it under the penlight.

Thanks ladies for making me feel better about this buy. I’ll be honest, I did struggle as it is very heavy bottomed (hence much smaller face up vs the carat weight) and the weak star. But mmm the color and retro ballerina setting.

Sharing some reading that I did:

Not too much at all Icy! My only concern is that depending on size, they might overshadow your ring if they're the same size as your ring. As long as you size them for max ear impact whilst keeping in mind the ring size, it will look fabulous!!!

Obviously the answer is no.
I wonder if inverting the colour scheme for the earrings would look good...
Lol! Thanks! I thought earrings might be too matchy-matchy… or just too much…cos the design is a bit erm “mature”?

Earrings will definitely be smaller than ring. I have weak ears!
Anyway asked Wriston to keep a look out in case he comes across any pairs.

Personally I wouldn’t wear all 4 matchy pieces together but I would want to have the earrings if Wriston could find or make them. I should say I wouldn’t now but who knows if I would in my 70-80? :D

Edit - I meant to say you can have the options of wearing earrings with ring, earrings with pendant or all 3 when you wanna feel extravagant :)

Yeah I do think all 4 together is a bit too matchy… anyway not that there are any pairs now so it’s just a thought

I was tempted to cheat and look up Asiatique but I did not!

I'm guessing the oval???

Did you do more damage or you were just out and about playing with the gems?

Went to collect the star after resizing and got the “rare” orange tourmaline after some consideration. Never saw an orange one before. Wriston said that the color is rare.

More of the star - GRS certed 12 ct, unheated Sri Lanka

Really love the blue color and crystal body. Wish the star is stronger but there is a trade off between star clarity and transparency I guess…

Wow! So pretty! What is the design of the ring to allow it to be two or three stones between the fingers? Or is the pink one separate?

They are all separates. Mix and match as I wish. I will set a few more stones next year for more combinations/variety…

Not my finger, from my jeweller:

Thank you! Am now thinking of other motifs that I can make. Orchid is a front runner but maybe an animal/insect motif (ladybug, snake) if it looks manageable by the workshop. Ideas are most welcomed!
