I think my inclusions are not matching clarity plot on cert?

Here is the clarity plot. It's scanned in from my certificate so I'm not sure how well you can see it. But the inclusions are all plotted in the middle of the diamond.

But I have this dark inclusion at the right side of my diamond. I think it is the most visible inclusion on my diamond because it's the only one that I can see in real life with no magnification. However, I can only see it when I view my diamond from the side and at an upward angle if that makes a difference.
I also circled what looks like a feather to me on the left side just because its really obvious in this picture... This one, I can't see that in real life at all. So maybe its just the camera making it look more obvious than it is and I can understand if this was left out of the plot...
Can anyone see the inclusions on the table that is actually in my clarity plot? Sometimes if I take a picture at the right angle I think I see some clouds in the middle but there's some white inclusions on the sides that look way more obvious in even those pictures. For example:

So what's going on here? Why isn't the dark inclusion on the right plotted? I'd think that any inclusion you can see with the unaided eye should be plotted...?

Get it appraised by an independent appraiser or get a trusted jeweler to look at it?

is it laser inscribed? does that inscription match the cert #? Bring it to an appraiser to be examined maybe.

So it is weird? I didn't bother to get it appraised or anything when I got it... Now it is after the 30 days return period, so if I do get it appraised (would it need to be taken off the setting?) and the diamond doesn't match the cert or something, is there anything I can do about it? I almost don't want to get it inspected and find out I got a misgraded diamond or something if there's nothing I can do about it now anyway. Also, what is most likely scenario? I'm just seeing weird things? AGS made some error? James Allen didn't send out the right diamond...? I never got my diamond appraised when I received it because I thought the latter two almost never occur?

Amy, It is supposed to be laser inscribed. I never looked at it though. Is there a cheap way to check the laser inscription? If I bring it into a jeweler would they be able to do it for a low cost if I don't ask for an appraisal?

my stone is laser inscribed with the cert #...it came with it...when i come in for sizing or cleaning, they let me check the laser # before and after under the microscope.

Thanks! The AGS certification says that it is laser inscribed with the cert #. I got my ring online though so I'll have to see if a local store would be willing to check it for me. I'm not sure what I'd do if I somehow ended up with the wrong diamond though!

Most jewelers will have a microscope and will help you look for the inscription.

JA should be willing to track down the correct stone if a wrong stone is set and send to you.

In your opinion, should I be worried enough by what I'm seeing to get it appraised assuming the cert # matches my diamond inscription? My diamond is only 1.15 carats and I always wondered a little whether I'm seeing too many white inclusions in pictures for a VS2. But I thought/think it is normal because pictures make the diamond really magnified? I have no idea if a more trained eye would be able to see it in real life. My eyes get overwhelmed by the sparkles when I look at it face up and can't see any inclusions at all.

And if it is some type of grading error is there any type of recourse? For example if an appraiser says that my diamond obviously lower than a VS2, is there anything I could even do except feel bad?

I'd get it checked out for your own peace of mind, if nothing else. There are appraisers that charge a set fee per piece, and it sounds like the kind of appraisal you want done is very straightforward (where is the laser inscription and what does it say) so I would go that route. If you have to take the issue to JA, you could present the appraisal report as "proof" and just highlight the line about the inscription. That would certainly get my attention, if I were a merchant, more so than the customer saying "I can't find my inscription...."

Btw, what looks like a cloud could be surface graining catching dirt. IMO, it's pretty hard to see inclusions unless you know exactly where to look and they are on the surface of the diamond (even black inclusions suspended in the diamond can be hard to see). Have you given your ring a good deep clean lately?

Re: I think my inclusions are not matching clarity plot on c

Thanks antelope1. I just had my ring steam cleaned at a jewelry store last night and took those pictures today. Before when I took pictures, I thought that a lot of what I was seeing was just dirt but I'm less convinced that its dirt now since it just got cleaned. For the black inclusion, it seemed like it was more obvious when the ring was dirty (maybe more light reflection hides it better?). I think I'll definitely take it to a jeweler to check for the laser inscription. Then maybe an appraisal. My diamond sparkles like crazy & I'm pretty much in love with it so I'm not going to be die regardless of what happens but I do hope my fiancee didn't pay VS2 price for an SI diamond :/

Re: I think my inclusions are not matching clarity plot on c

The reason why I suggested the ammonia is that steam does not dissolve oils (like fingerprints, hand lotion). Does not hurt to try?

Re: I think my inclusions are not matching clarity plot on c

My 5 stone ring has VS1 and VS2 diamonds in it, I cant see anything at all in them with out my loupe, now granted they are only .15 each, but I can spot inclusions pretty easily in about any diamond, but for your diamond you should get it checked and I hope for the best. You love the diamond so it wont matter, but do it for your piece of mind 8)

Re: I think my inclusions are not matching clarity plot on c

Just to clarify actually, I said I got it steam cleaned just because I got it back pretty warm so I assumed it was steamed... I'm not sure if the jewelry store person cleaned it with anything else but it looks very very clean. It had a film of lotion/soap/whatever on the sides when I gave it to him and it was pretty as new when I got it back. Btw, what a difference a cleaning makes! But I'll be sure to ask if dirt could be what I'm seeing when I go to a store/ appraiser. I'm going to get the # checked today if I have the time
