Yoga, to relax.
And, they make hair-thickening shampoos, but I''m not sure if they work.

You could also wash it less often, especially in winter when everything is dry.
Maybe visit your doctor - dermatologist? - to see if there''s a better solution...

I would say to first go to the doctor for a general checkup. You may be lacking some sort of vitamin. Or you can just go to GNC and look for some B12 vitamins.

Another option would be to check what kind of hair products you are using. I used to always use hairspray but noticed my hair thinning as well. I switched to just using a conditioning cream with no other products and its gotten better.

ok ill start taking my one a day womens and im going to look for a shampoo for thinning hair any suggestions ?

i take biotin for my hair.. its not falling out... but its made it very healthy and it grows pretty fast...

Yes, see a dermatologist! They take care of hair and nail problems, not just skin. There are medical conditions that can make your hair fall out, and a dermatologist would be the most helpful in getting to the root (

well then thats going to have to wait till april 25 when i can use my new husbands insurance. but in the mean time im going to have to find something over the counter.

this happens to me. i have heard so many different things... but the most common is that my asthma meds are causing it to fall out. i take biotin and that helps a little. i also try to not use really harsh shampoos like those daily cleasing ones. you also should really calm down. stress does a serious number on your hair!!

Are you eating ok? I know you''ve talked about this in the past so I thought I''d mention to make sure that you are taking a multi vit as well as eating enough healthy stuff... When I undereat my nails and hair have noticable changes. That usally happens when I haven''t taken care of myself for a considerable amount of time usually because I am pre-occupied with other things and not eating enough. Be careful, I know the wedding is coming up but please make sure to eat some healthy well balanced meals. I''m only mentioning this because you''ve mentioned going on a strict calorie reducing diet in the past. If you are doing this then the only thing to reverse the hair issue is to eat more. No product will help with that. If you are eating ok and this is still happening I would take the vitamins and see a doctor because if it is something else you should probably get it checked out now. I hope everything is ok. Take care of yourself.

First, I want to say that your hair cut in your avatar is knock out cute. Second, is it really? We normally loose about 100 strands a day. The longer your hair is, the more it looks like on the brush. But you should definitely check to make sure you are getting enough calories and healthy fats...avocados, nuts, olive oil, fish...

B-Complex vitamins seem to make my hair and nails grow faster...

omg that pic is with a wig I bought for fun lo this is my real hair right before i started really falling out alot and thinning

I want to echo EmeraldLover. You lose hair if you don''t eat enough. I''m going to put a post on HL, so you can read about my experience there.

Try shampoos without SLS in them. They''re pretty much all over, and they should say right on the label "NO SLS" You can even get them at drugstore.com and stuff. They''re not expensive either.

Another thing you might consider is maybe putting a water filter on your shower? Chlorine and heavy metals in the tap water can really wreck hair and skin, if you''re the sensitive type...

It''s highly unlikely that something environmental is causing this, especially if you haven''t changed products/houses/environments etc and it''s come on all of a sudden.

I wouldn''t put anything on it until you have seen your GP. Hair loss can often be a result from stress, or vitamin deficiency I wouldn''t wait till April though, it could be a sign of a deeper problem. When the GP has ruled out stress, disease etc, then try different shampoos, treatments etc. There is a medical reason for the this I would say.

Relax. Seriously. Stress does terrible things to your body. Do whatever it takes to feel at peace--yoga and biofeedback work well for me. If you can, cut out some of the stressful things in your life. Will the world stop if you don''t bake all your Christmas cookies or refuse to make one more trip to the mall? Nope. For me, it''s those little things that can really send my stress level over the top. If you are concerned about wedding stuff, just try to realize that your day will be wonderful and perfect even if the menu cards have typos and the bridesmaids'' jewelry doesn''t match.

Other than that, you can use the Nioxin system. It apparently does help people with thinning hair at least to some degree. There is a shampoo and conditioner, but my stylist says the real helper is the scalp treatment.

Both biotin and flaxseed oil can help strengthen your hair. Make sure you are eating enough protein (that is what hair is made of!) and healthy fats and oils.

If I were you, I wouldn''t wait to see a doctor at least for a blood test. This happened to my mom and she thought it was the start of menopause (she''s 50). Well, the blood work showed that she has a thyroid condition and is now on medication and doing very well. She had some other subtle symptoms as well, but like I said she thought it was menopause kicking in. If insurance is an issue, go to a clinic where they will not charge you alot of money, but I would definitely do the blood test for peace of mind and then go on from there. It could also be hormonal if you are on the pill (dosage) or have changed from pill to something else.

ditto - i had super long hair (down to my middle back) and was losing fistfulls at a time. i recent cut my hair about 6 inches (!!!) and now its just a few strands when brushing my hair.
I use pureology and redkin Extreme - i love them both.

I bought 2 shampoos from this brand yesterday. one for thinning and one for volume!

I feel it has to be stress because I have been eatting. I just have alot going on besides our wedding. I was painting the bedroom then the color was gross so i had to do it all over again and our apt is still a wreck. Got a new tattoo and it got infected because my dog scratched me and now it has to be fixed. My nerves are shot because im still waiting on my review at work. Plus all the money we are spending on the wedding just keeps going up up up.

Its just so much that im glad im not a drinker because I would be an alcoholic right now. I did get a mani and pedi and massage on my break. Boy was I tense ! im just glad its friday so i can regroup.
