Hi there,
I've been lurking on these forums for a while now and learning as much as possible over the last few weeks in order to arm myself with some good knowledge while I went hunting for the perfect stone. These forum's have been amazingly informative and I think I would be lost in my search without them! I think I've found the stone I want and I think the price is good, but I'd like to hear thoughts from others.
I'm looking at a round brilliant stone with the following characteristics:
Shape and Style: Round Brilliant
Measurements: 6.20 - 6.24 x 3.86 mm
Cut Grade: AGS Ideal 0
Color Grade: AGS 1.5 (G)
Clarity Grade: AGS 4 (VS2)
Carat Weight 0.922
Fluorescence: Negligible
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Table: 55.3%
Crown Angle: 35.0
Crown Height: 15.6%
Girdle: Faceted, 1.9% to 4.1%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Pavilion Depth: 43.1%
Star Length: 48%
Lower Girdle Length: 75%
Total Depth: 62.1%
Culet: Pointed
If I remember the term correctly, I believe it is an AGS Triple Ideal diamond. I've attached an image of what inclusions are present (from the AGS report). There seems to be an extra facet on the right, some feathers to the left and a few other things.I'm being quoted approximately 5200$ US for the loose stone and basically I'd like to hear what others think of the price (I just want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off). I should add that this is a Canadian mined and cut stone, so there might be a bit of a price premium, which I'm ok with. Also, I put the numbers into the HCA calculated and the stone received a score of 1.6 , with everything being
excellent, except spread, which was very good.
Thank you so much for any input!
