Okay, I think I may have found my dress! EEEEEK! It''s the Aurora from the Amsale Blue Label. GORGEOUS. And so not something I would ever think I would want! Ha!

It''s a sample so it''s already half off. Do you think I could negotiate for more of a discount? It''s actually in great shape overall but there are a few marks/stains on it that are not small. One is on the front of the dress and there are several more around the bottom on the underside of the hem of the train.

I''m going back tomorrow with my mom to try it on again and I want to get more of a deal. It was originally $5200 and it''s half off, so now it''s $2600. The sales lady said that Saks does a package for cleaning and alteration that''s $450. So I was thinking of trying to get that included with the dress. But really I would love to get the dress for $2000 or even less, though.

Does anyone think I have a chance negotiating at Saks? And if so, how should I go about it?

I can totally see you rocking that! And I think it is completely worth a try. Worst comes to worst they say no right? I do think it''s easier to negotiate the cleaning package though than another percentage off...but I''d go for both personally!

Gorgeous. Take pics tomorow in it! I would not buy something that expensive with stains on it. I don''t care if its half off. They should gaureentee the stains out at their expense. That is what I would ask for. Other than that I don''t know too much about samples but it is always worth asking.

How exciting T2o2!! That dress is a real showstopper!! What a deal too!!
I say go for it ... inquire about getting the cleaning & alts thrown in and if it is possible to apply any further discounting to the sample sale price. Anything is possible sooo it''s worth a shot. The worst that they can say is no. If not - you still have that fabulous dress that you love for $2,600, which is a total steal over the original price.

I do agree with em1 ... work the cleaning angle b/c it sure would be nice to take that beauty home and not have to worry about taking care of any stains!

Yay!

Squeee! It''s so unique and pretty!

I don''t know if I''d have the guts to ask for more off... I''m NOT a good bargainer, haha! But it''s totally reasonable to ask them to throw in the package... so I say go for it!!

Thanks everyone! I''m so excited-it''s PINK! I love it! So not something I thought I''d go for, but isn''t that what everyone says?!

I''m going to have my mom play bad cop tomorrow, I think! Hahaha! The sales lady knows I LOVE it so there''s no way I can pretend I don''t want it, sadly!

Em, I agree about the stains-I''m not paying $2600 for a stained dress. They''ll have to clean it before I buy it. If they do that then I''ll probably suck it up and pay the $2600 for it. Is that just a crazy amount to pay? What do most people pay for wedding dresses?

I love this dress! I love how fantastic the fabric feels on Amsale dresses. I would have bought the one I tried similar to this based on that feeling alone even though it wasn''t quite right for me!

$2600 imo is a great price for an Amsale if it''s cleaned. Go for it!

That dress is really cool, and I love Amsale. Think of it this way: if that stain doesn''t come out, then you are paying 2600 dollars for something that is worthless. No one (of any good sense) can wear a wedding dress with a big stain on the front.

I would definitely push for, at the very least, a money back guaranty that the stain comes out. Honestly, if they don''t agree to it, I would walk away. After that, it is up to you whether or not the dress is worth 3000 dollars after cleaning. Ask yourself, would you pay 3000 dollars for the dress if you didn''t know that it was "originally priced" at 5200? If so, then go for it! If not, then don''t be lured by the sale.

You already know what I think about it.

However, you didn''t tell me it was originally $5,200!!!!! You left that out completely!!!!!!!

I hope your mama works some magic!!!!

WOW, that dress makes a statement! Hope you''re able to negotiate something with Saks; would love to hear how it goes. I tried on a Vera Wang there that I''m considering but the thought of bargaining for a greater discount never passed my mind.

Firstly that dress is rockin and I think you could totally rock it, I love it :D very glam. On to the topic though if you never ask you will never find out, I would ask on the premise that it does have stains on it for that reason alone (considering all the samples are reduced regardless of condition) they should be able to move about a little more.

I would also call up every other Saks store in and around your area to see if they have the same sample in stock but in better condition.

Thanks everyone! My mom is coming with so she''s my bad cop! And I''ll take real pictures today to post! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! I would respond individually but I have to get ready to go to some bridal expo thing and then go see (and maybe buy) this beauty again!

I agree not to purchase a dress with stains. furthermore, even if they can get the stain out they should give you a discount for the stain being there in the first place! hope your momma does a good bad cop.

was just wondering something about the dress... it doesn't hang off your boobs right? or does it just look that way because of the model's figure? a dress isn't supposed to be held up by your bust. it's supposed to be held up by your waist, otherwise it will be too heavy. just something to consider.

I think she'll do it well-she gets to be more of a bad ass the older she gets!

As for the boobs, definitely not! It's more fitted in the waist for sure. It's probably just too big on that skinny minnie model. If it was supposed to be held up by my bust we'd be in trouble!

It''s gorgeous!! All they can say is no, so I would definitely try and bargain a bit.

I''m so enamored of this gorgeous dress!!

It would be stunning on you!

Good luck today, Thing2!!

When I scrolled down to see the picture of the dress, it seriously made me inhale. That is the hands down the most beautiful dress I''ve ever seen. I hope you are able to work a deal and get it!!!!!!

How did it go, Thing2? Hopefully you and your mom are out celebrating the purchase of your dress!

Dying to find out how it went!!

Yeah, that model is scary looking! I can''t wait to hear how it went at Saks though, because I think it will look gorgeous on a real person. Good luck!

Sorry to keep everyone in suspense! The negotiating did not happen! The sale lady was great, but she said they can''t do anything on the price, couldn''t do the cleaning, etc. because they are getting rid of everything! So...

I BOUGHT IT ANYWAY!
23.gif
I love it so much and honestly, I could wear it as is without getting it cleaned because the marks and stains are either on the bottom of the dress or not noticeable at all. There is one thin dust/dirt mark on the front of the skirt at the bottom, but the dress is poofy so you can''t really tell. And the rest are around the bottom where it drags on the ground. I''m just going to get it dry cleaned after I get the alterations done! And...real life pictures are coming right up!

YES!!!

I love the suspense ... I looked like

when I finished reading the first part of your post and was so disappointed that it couldn''t happy for you but that just made me (((((((THIS)))))))))) much more excited for you when I realized that you were able to get it! Really, that discount was incredible ... take that gorgeous dress and run!

That is SO fantastic! Can''t wait for the pics, T202!!
