So after searching various OECs, styles, etc...I think I found “the” ring. I know antique diamonds are cut very differently so how does the chart look?? *edit* just realized it’s not filled in ‍♀️. I wish I could upload some videos because this ring is stunning. I wanted something I could wear and not worry about pave diamonds falling out (have a 12 week old and my current ring is covered in pave diamonds and some have fallen out over the past month ). Looking for a care free low set diamond so this fits the bill. I’m also accustomed to white gold and platinum. I’m a cool toned blonde with pink undertones. Anyone else the same and wears yellow gold?? Also I feel like this diamond faces up much bigger than a typical 1ct oval? Thoughts on that too? Should I pull the trigger?! And price would be around $6,800.

Why does the cert say 1.01 carats but the comments section says 2.42?

I think it’s pretty and you can’t buy fancies by the numbers especially old ovals. But I would want to have it re-examined by GIA or AGS so you know if you’re getting what you pay for. The different numbers cited is a bit dubious imo

If you have seen it in person and love it go for it, but not at that price. Antique cuts are all about your eyes. I would ask them to provide a better document if you are planning on insuring it and confirming it hasn't be filled etc (that incorrect weight is bothering me) and to do that at their cost.

Ughhh! This is why I always ask all of you! Not sure how I missed that in the comments section  Thank you! Will update you all if I decide to pursue it any further. Need to think this one over. :(2

I love old cuts and I think the ring & the diamond are gorgeous. Is there some way the seller can pull the diamond and have it evaluated by GIA? Are you in the United States or elsewhere?

I'm in the slim minority here who believes it's not all about numbers, especially with old cut diamonds & old jewelry. If you see the ring, your heart loves it, I say go for it. Yet with that said, the price does seem quite high. And given the higher price tag for what you're seeing, the total carat weight and other "basics" about the diamond should be clarified prior to purchase. Just my opinion.
