Wow! Quite a jump in color! COngrats. I love the icy whitness of "colorless" diamonds. Everyone always says go lower color and lower clarity in earrings and you did the opposite! LOVE IT.

Hi guys!

OK, so here's the thing. Dreamer probably remembers how when I very firstly got here, all I wanted was a D IF, cause I thought that meant the best. Then PS learned me a thing or two and I got my beautiful E VS2 ering. I even had a chance with Leon to get a beautifully cut .90 D IF cushion, but it wasn't singing to me.

Still,m every once and awhile I would peruse the James Allen site or others looking at D IF's in any cut, just to see what was out there and maybe small and affordable. I saw one tiny emerald cut that fit the bll, but I was like, what the hell am I gonna do with that? Plus, what's the point in getting a D IF if the cut is sucky. I mean I wanted it just to have one, but also didn't want to just blow money for no good reason, you know?

Then last night I come across D IF AVRound. I had been wanting one of those babies and had even considered making my mothers ring with 2 of the.25 H babies, but then came my Leon project.

Which leads me to answering your question Dreamer. (Finally, right?) Well, I love my little AVC studs but I wasn't loving the color. There's something about bright white that I adore. And I can barely eek out buying the set with the awesome GOG upgrade policy. So they are becoming stud earrings. Not going for a ring because I have my Leon coming and I'm not the kind of person that wears different rings on different days. I'm like, put it on and and never get anything else, cause this baby ain't coming off.

So the Debbie everyone will see come December will be me for 15 years: Leon on each hand and GOG on my lobes.

As for setting, I'm thinking like Phoenix's gorgeous BGD's:

Pulled an Andelain............... I'll have you know I'm pulling another Andelain right now too, I have a custom project underway, I just bought a .80 ct 'D' from GOG that WF is mounting, plus I have 2 .25 ct AVR's on hold..... with that said.....


I WAS JUST LOOKING AT THOSE STONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
about a half hour before you posted this. I even still have the pages open with the prices showing. I was drooling over them and a pair of .70 ct each H&A 'D's GOG is taunting me with.


I'm soooooooo glad they went to a PS'er, and especially one who will post pretty pictures. I completely agree with putting D-IF's in earrings for a few reasons. First of all, you know what they are, even if no one else does. Besides, the sparkle coming off a truly colorless stone is really something. MissyDebby dear, your ears are going to blind folks.

Thanks Anne! You know, I am crazy color sensitive. And I wish I liked the lower stones. but it seems like for me it's either DEF or totally fancy.

So everyone, what do you think of the setting choice? It's either that or put them in the 4 prongs I currently have to save money. I'm a total spaz. I saved all the money I needed for my Leon RHR project, like a good girl, but these I sorta went out on a limb. I mean I have the money, especially with the trade in, but I'm also a little bit counting chickens before they hatch. But I never see a D IF in an AVround, and I felt like I had to jump. I had a weird itch that needed to be scratched. Seriously, after this, my midlife crisis is officially over.

Those are lovely! Really the perfect size for earrings. I have warmer european cuts slightly smaller in milgrain bezels like you posted and you are right that I never want to wear anything else, they are just so satisfying. Also, my setting tip is I had singlestone order stock platinum settings and then they did the hand milgrain on them. It was a very inexpensive way to achieve a bespoke look. I can't wait to see what you do with them!

As you all know, Leon is my setting demi-god (except for all his issues with other PSers, which has taken a lot of the shine off the apple for me) and Jon/GOG is who I consider my family jeweler. Which is crazy/awesome considering that I live on a different continent and when I'm stateside, on the west coast. I got my sister a bday gift from them and she was floored by how beautiful it is. She hasn't taken it off since she's got it.

Hey Kelpie! That's a good idea to consider. I'm waiting on an email back from Marie at GOG regarding settings, but I'm really considering just reusing the 4 prongs I have now to minimize cost. Plus if I wait for permanent settings then I have something to look forward to. I mean, paying the extra money it costs to have something redonkulous like a D IF is sorta enough of a splurge for me at the moment. Anyways, we'll see what Marie says, but that's how I'm leaning.

Hey Queen and Bright! I'm gonna get them when i come back to the States in December, but they are available now. And I'm gonna get milgrained bezels in 14k.

We do think alike in many ways, especially about color. One end of the alphabet or the other! Not in between. I can't be the queen of bling, maybe a member of Phoenix, Mrs. Flintstone, or btiger's royal court.

The project that's custom I'm going to wait till it's done to spring in on all of you. You'd never in a million years guess what I'm doing unless Vera tips someone off. The 80 point GOG 'D' is going in the WF 'Lilly' as a temporary setting. IF I decide to marry my man I'm going to have a duplicate made of my ring to fit him, and that stone goes in it. And if I don't get married I have a nice 80 point stone to do with as I please. It was just too good of a deal not to grab it. The AVR's I have on hold will be studs, but I'm having trouble finding settings I want.

Oh, and Debby, it's never over. I know this from experience, you might as well start saving for your next project.

God, I know this is sooooo overkill. If there's anything I learned on PS it's that D IF is so unnecessary. And the D IF is 1k more than the D VS1, just for the clarity that I won't even see. Still, I just wanted it you know? I'm nuts.
