I picked my stone this weekend...

Hi All!

My bf and I picked out our stone this weekend. We knew we wanted a cushion brilliant. The jeweler got 6 stones for us to look at. All were gorgeous. We finally narrowed things down to two stones:

1. A 1.21 F/SI1 no flourescence

2. A 1.51 I/VS1, with faint flourescence

Both were gorgeous, very sparkly, lively. We looked at them outside on the street - looked great there too! The jeweler suggested that the I looked more like an H because of the flourescence (though it was only faint flourescence). Interestingly, the price difference between the two stones was only $700.

We decided to go with the 1.51. I know I''m not giving you a ton of info...but what do you think of this decision?

The jeweler didn''t have a setting like the one we want, so he''s ordering more for us to see.

You didn''t give what you paid for it, but in searching the virtual listing, they are starting at around 6000.00. Without any info, I can''t say much more, except enjoy!

I guess what I''m really asking is how people feel about sacrificing clarity for color? I went with the VS1 because it was sooo clean - even under the microscope. And it still looked white to me, even next to the F.

Just wondering if people are more likely to go for an F with SI1...rather than an I/VS1

There is no right or wrong choice in regards to color and clarity bella. It''s all personal. Some will pick one, some the other. Some don''t care about either. It''s what makes you comfortable!

I think the setting you picked would look very pretty with a cushion. The only thing to make sure of, is that the pave is not up in the top of the colorless range, or there might be a noticable difference between the cushion and pave.

I agree about the pave. I specifically asked the jeweler about that very issue and he said he will select stones that will compliment the I and not make it look dark.

I can''t wait to see it all put together!
