I need TONS of dust please.......

If some of you remember, I lost my job at the end of June.

I have just found the PERFECT job for me which pays a significant amount more than what I was making before (and it happens to be somewhere I love.) Also, it is in the same industry but on top of that, it is in the same "business" in the same industry as my previous job. So I am hoping that the HR department notices that and calls me in for an interview. Only slight problem is that this job was posted last Wednesday and I didn't see it until today. So I spent literally the entire day putting together a cover letter and making my updates to the resume and portfolio samples perfect! I just sent it all off and I can finally walk away from my computer.

Please if you will, send lots of dust my way!! I certainly need it!!! This is a tough industry Im in and if I can get an interview, then Im certainly lucky.

eryone!! From the bottom of my heart!! Hopefully your dust will help me out and get me an interview and then hopefully the job! I will definitely keep you all posted once I find anything out. I did get an automatic email that said they tend to get a lot of applicants for jobs, so Im guessing it may take a while before I hopefully hear from them. Im not quite sure how long HR departments accept applicants for job positions before they close the posting (so its been a week today.) And Im guessing they weed out those who don't meet requirements and then go through those who do. I KNOW for a fact I meet all requirements so I HOPE HOPE HOPE they at least give me a chance. And I certainly hope my portfolio samples are the look they are wanting...

Sometimes it takes them forrrrrrever!! I applied for a job two years ago, on a whim. I told myself that if it was still up in a month, I would apply, so I did. Then I got a call from them a month later. I interviewed and interviewed and ultimately was offered the job, but it wasn''t financially worth it at the time.

At one of my prior jobs, I interviewed with 6 people and then never heard from them. Six months later I get a call and got the job.

Oh well, I worked there for nearly seven years.

And on my current job. Two days after the resume, I was called for the interviews. Within a week I received the offer and they wanted me to start the next day.

So take it from me. You just never know. But here is a lot of PS dust, finger crossing and fortune for you.

Again, good luck! I hope you find out sooner rather than later, since I know how nerve wracking it is to wait for something like this. Then again, good things come to those who wait, or so they say.

Dreamgirl, at my last job I helped with reviewing resumes and interviewing candidates, and it does take awhile. Sometimes it would take a couple days for resumes to get from HR to my manager, another couple days for us to fit in time among our other work to review them and decide who to call in, then we had to give the resumes back to HR so they could contact people to either schedule interviews or tell them they hadn''t been chosen...all in all, if anyone got a call within a week, either they were phenomenally qualified or just plain lucky. When we had a deluge of candidates, it was even slower.

I think that if they don''t call you by the end of next week, you could follow up with a phone call to them, just "checking to make sure all your documents were in order" or something like that. But chances are good that the hiring manager hasn''t even had a chance to look over the resumes yet, so don''t fret!
