I inadvertently found out my boyfriend bought me a ring (oops). It''s a 1.5 carat round Solitaire. I have NO IDEA how big that will look on my finger (size 5) and am dying to know, but don''t want to go try one on (I''m afraid I will fall in love with a different ring, haha). If you have pics of a ring in that size range, please post it!!! THANKS!

Erin, there are lots of folks here that have that size, just do a search. I think there is a thread called show me you 1.5 to 2 ct stone. It might also be in the helpful
threads archive. Good luck.

I searched it already. That is how I found this site. I found about 5 or 6 pictures, but would like to see a couple more for more info. Thanks!

Right above your post there is a thread called SMTR Helpful threads archive. There is a thread on there for you. If you have time there is a ton in the eye candy folder as well.
Try to search as well in the search on the site, not just google. Believe me there is a ton.

Hopefully this will help a little, although yours is bigger

That is going to be a lovely ring - fabulous size stone!

Look at this thread, people usually list the ring size and stone stats:

1-2 ct stone

Here is my 1.53 on a size 4.25. This should be pretty similar to yours.

Another. I am trying to include some real-life perspectives to give you a good idea of the size.

One more. I think 1.5 is a great size! Especially in a solitaire! It gives you lots of options (I do a lot of different band options with my wedding set, as you can see :).

Wow! All your rings are so beautiful! They look huge!! I guess I wasn''t expecting them to look that big! I really like the smaller diamonds on the band. Definitely a nice touch!

Purpleshirt, your heart prongs are adorable!!!

Check the real life perspective thread too in the healpful threads archive that Lus2sparkle mentioned.

I think it''s hard to judge based on ring size and carat size alone. I have a 1.96 and I wear a size five. But my fingers are short and pudgy. So to me, I think my diamond looks smaller than it would on maybe a woman with a size 6, long, slender finger. No matter what you see in pictures, trust me, it will look and feel huge on your finger when you get it. I used to cut out tiny paper circles that were the same size of my diamond before I got it to get an idea of how it would look on me. Paper and diamonds are no comparison. Still, it was a fun waste of time!

Anyway, here''s a pic.

How exciting for you. I can''t wait to see it. I am sure it will look great and huge on your finger. All the pictures posted look pretty too.

Mine was probably in that other thread but I''ll play anyway:) It''s a little smaller than yours at 1.35, and my ring size is 5.25. Here it is in my yellow room in front of pricescope.

Kelli,

Your ring looks almost identical to mine. Yours is so pretty!

EHR9000 - can you tell me about your plain band? width/shape? I LOVE the way it looks and can''t seem to find one with that sort of look...is it a comfort fit? 3mm? Thx!

Thanks gemgirl and waterlilly!

My plain band is 3mm comfort fit. It is 2mm in depth.

Pretty ring. Your diamond looks huge on your hand. Much bigger than a 1.5.

Thanks, MC! I get that a lot, and I think it has to due with a few factors:
-The band tapers toward the diamond, which makes it pop a little, I think
-I have small (size 4.25-4.5 fingers)
-This part seems silly, but I think that extra .03 carat weight does make a tiny bit of a visual difference, even though I think the experts might disagree.

EHR, I can''t stop looking at your rings!!! And your hands are so beautiful!!! I wish I had longer fingers so that I could stack on more bling!

I''m sorry to thread jack but I have to ask this question because I''m shopping for mountings. Chiquita, who is your solitaire setting from?

Thank You ladies!! I wish the ''susbscription to the thread'' worked for me.... I totally missed your question, gemgirl. Thanks for answering for me and linking my thread, HVVS!

Enjohnson, 1.5ct is a beautiful size and it will look great on your finger!
