What a nice guy! His reputation on this board is well deserved.
I returned a tsavorite to him (the one y'all said would be windowed -- yup, it was) on Nov. 2. Didn't hear anything, so last Thurs. I emailed & asked what was up. Got a reply from Tan that they hadn't received it but would refund as soon as they did. I called up the docs which said it was delivered the 8th & let Tan know.
Yesterday I get an email, before he had located the stone: "sorry for not paying attentionin this case. i will confirm with my staff and i make sure i will punish them for this irresponsibility. i will make sure i will personally refund you before noon our thai time. best regards an my sincere apology." While I was a little alarmed at the picture this brought to mind of his staff being soundly spanked, I figured the specifics got lost in translation! The intent was sweet & holy cow, it's my first purchase from him -- how did he know I'm not a con man (woman)?
They did in the end find the garnet -- it was stuck in customs -- & sent me back the entire amount. I couldn't be more impressed. (Did ask him not to punish his employees in that it was probably nuts while he was sick and, of course, wished him much improved health. Sincerely mean it, what a rare nice man.)
