I LOVE my fly zapper!!!

Flies are disgusting because they suck the blood out of dog poop.
Then then fly into your house, land on things in your kitchen and barf.
No matter how careful we are it seems we get one or two per day.

I got one of these bug zappers that looks like a tennis racket.
You put batteries in the handle and swat the fly in mid air.

It makes a very loud SNAP as the bug fries from the high voltage.
It is VERY satisfying.

I love it so much I'm almost tempted to let flies in.

Kenny, I laughed when I saw the subject for this. I too have the fly zapper and since I'm afraid of any seriously multi-legged things like spiders, I have to say it comes in handy. One time though there was a wasp buzzin around the house and I zapped him good. Then suddenly he came back to life! It was like he shook off being zapped and not once but like 4 x. I had to hold the zapper and run out the house with him being electrocuted because he just wouldn't die!!! So, beware that the bigger bugs won't go down easy.

I just saw some have larger batteries than others.

Mine uses two D size.
I surfed around and saw one that uses two AA size.

I may be wrong but I'd guess the smaller batteries cannot provide the current that the larger ones can provide.

What size batteries does yours use?

We had a fly problem once and used those sticky things that you hang on the ceiling....caught 42 of those suckers!

It's REALLY fun.
It feels sooooooooooooo good.
As you hunt for prey and move in the the kill you can visualize that "special" person, your boss, your mother in law, or that nasty SOB on PS...

I bought mine at Harbor Freight for $2.99 and it uses two D-sized batteries.
If you can find one that uses more or larger batteries I'd get that.
The power of the ZAPP explosion may be even larger and louder.

Cool Kenny, thanks. With shipping, it's about $10 total. Amazon has one for 7.99, but it only uses AA batteries. I wonder if it matters? Sounds like using D batteries would be a guaranteed better shock!

ETA, just saw your edit, so I guess you do recommend the bigger battery one. Did you buy online or at a store?

BTW, they are very cheaply made so you may want to buy two.

Fly chasing is a source of constant entertainment at our house. I love when they unleash their inner wolf and stalk their prey. Of course they miss and the chase begins! They always look sad when I swat the flies, like I threw away their favorite toy.
