I know this is a awesome price, but is anything wrong with it?

So, doing my usual daily diamond "virtual browsing" online. I decided today to step further down the color ladder to see what I could find, because I''ve decided not to spend as much as originally anticipated. My girlfriend will appreciate me not spending every last dollar i have on a diamond, because we still need money to have a future together.

So anyway, I suddenly stumbled upon this, from a reputable PS vendor:

It appears to be a virtual listing, since no grade report # is given. It scores a 1.1 on the HCA, so it''s an ideal cut. The best part is, the price: $2,550 and that''s before the PS discount!

Anyone have any comments? I might have to jump on this if it''s a steal...

Hi Max,

This looks like a superbly cut diamond, but you need an expert vendor's eye run over it to let you know if it is eyeclean or not. If this is a virtual diamond, it may be well worth calling it in, are you sure it isn't an in house diamond? Also make sure that this diamond matches your ideal of eyeclean, and let your vendor know your comfort level. SI2 clarities are not created equal, but there are some out there which are extremely clean and can be an excellent buy!

It may very well be in-house, it DID have sarin specifications. I just couldn''t find a report #, so I thought perhaps it was a virtual listing. If I call, will the vendor send me magnified pictures and information?

Definitely not a virtual stone, since I found it w/ pictures on a vendor''s website. Anyway, after seeing the picture I definitely wonder if it is eye clean. Pretty glaring inclusion in the middle. The cut looks lovely though. That said, if this stone IS eye clean or anything close, I suggest you put it on hold quickly at that price!! Too many lurkers out there

Good luck!

It looks great if it''s eyeclean! I''d reserve it quick in case anyone else nabs it as icekid said.

Well, I called and it''s definetly NOT eyeclean they said.

*sigh* the search continues...

ugh that''s a pity.

This one is a tiny bit smaller but it looks good. Again you''d have to check if it was eyeclean though.

Yeah.. too bad! Keep looking, I am sure you''ll find something lovely. I noticed the one bee* linked as well, but I wonder if it is also not eyeclean due to the attractive price. Worth another call, though.

I''m sorry, but that one also has pretty hideous inclusions. The only SI2 I would consider would have to have white inclusions.

The representative I talked to at james allen did recommend two stones to me, and I believe that was one of them. The other was a .81 that I think looks a little better on the HCA, and she said the inclusion on it could probably be covered with a prong in a setting. i''ll have to consider it.
