I''ve been job searching on and off since we got back from our honeymoon in mid-September, but only really started hardcore searching (every day for at least a few hours) within the last few weeks.
I realized yesterday that I''ve applied to 19 jobs in the last couple months and only gotten called on 2. It was definitely a depressing realization. One of the calls resulted in an interview (it was really just pre-employment testing) at the beginning of December, but it didn''t go well and I knew I wasn''t going to be getting the job. The other resulted in a phone interview. The company was awesome, the owner was awesome, but the salary was not awesome. In fact, it was waaay below awesome standards to the point where we just wouldn''t be able to make it work without sacrificing a lot of things (having a house any time in the near future) that I''m just not willing to sacrifice.
Well, my luck seems to be changing a bit because I got a call for an interview today! I really thought this company wasn''t going to respond since when I sent them my resume 2 weeks ago I misspelled "specialist" (spelled it "specialst"
) in the subject line of my email (gmail needs to create a function that spell checks that part of the email!). As soon as I realized my mistake I called the HR contact to follow up, make sure they''d received my resume, and try to set up a phone interview. She wasn''t there so I left a message. That was a week ago and I hadn''t heard anything so I figured they''d just deleted my resume due to my typo (I''m a really good fit for the job based off of their job posting.).
But they didn''t! And now I have an interview on Tuesday!!!
So, PSers, please send some job dust this way because as soon as I find a job in the area DH and I can finally move back to Pittsburgh! DH''s current company is going to allow him to work from home 3-4 days a week. He''ll do that and then make the 3-hr round trip drive once or twice a week (hopefully just once!). So, me finding a job is the only thing holding us back from buying a house and moving back to Pittsburgh.
Sorry this is long and I''m kind of rambling...I''m just so freakin'' excited!!!
