I have a predicament.. who can help..?

Hello all, I was given a ring by an ex and when the relationship ended I kept the ring. Well he has recently (December) filed an insurance claim on the ring and has received his payment. How am I supposed to get rid of the ring now?

Um, report him for insurance fraud?

He named me as the thief so I did alert the insurance company who didn't seem too worried about the situation. I spoke with the officer who filed the report and he said it was a civil matter and said there was nothing else he could do. I was hoping to gain insight on what steps I can take from here.

I know this is an old post but call the insurance company again and try to get someone that is more interested. Once the claim is paid out, they are the ones that have the right to go after the "missing" property. He really has no further claim/loss. You might want to try and force it back into their hands.

Just curious as to why you didn't just return it to him to begin with and save yourself the trouble?
