But still not enough red.

That looks pretty dang good to me. It has about as much red as most of the ASETS on Good Old Gold's site for their inventory, and they pick very nice emerald cuts.

It it's not tilted, that one is a winner. And it is enough red. The diamond will flash when it moves. Have the vendor make a video if they can. the blue in that is for contrast there. It's a good stone.

What are the stats on it and can the vendor get you crown height?

I saw this diamond...and I was there when the vendor made the ASET and took the photo...
I'm not entirely sure if it's tilted or not....hmmmm...it was placed on a hole for rounds in a small plexi glass with backlight...

for my untrained eyes...this one does not look too much different from this i posted before:

I didn't ask for sarin....don't know about the crown height...but here is the video:

Let me know what you guys think lol

THANK YOU!

Btw Gypsy...the 1.72 H VS1 on JA you selected looks quite nice as well :)

OK. So if ASET 1:

And ASET 2:

Are of the same stone-- the one in THIS Ritani link: http://www.ritani.com/diamonds/emerald-diamond-1-59-Carat-G-color-GIA-certified/D-GR225H?search_key=D-GR225H

ONE of the ASETs is tilted. Because ASET 1 shows no P3 issue. ASET 2 shows a P3 issue. So if they are of the SAME stone. ONE of them is tilted.

Now. Crown height is a separate issue. IF the stone is the one in this link: http://www.ritani.com/diamonds/emerald-diamond-1-59-Carat-G-color-GIA-certified/D-GR225H?search_key=D-GR225H It doesn't have a

Then the crown is on the lower end. But might still be over 10%. It's not a big deal, it's a preference thing. Crown height and smaller table (and it's got a nice table size) means fire. A lower crown means less fire, usually. That's okay though. Just something to be aware of when you see it in person to see what you think of it.

ohoh nono...they are different ASETs from two different stones. the ritani link is for the first stone that you like...
under my untrained naked eye...these two stones don't look much different...

so you think the stone on ritani has low crown...?

The crown on the low side of acceptable. Still acceptable. But probably in the 10% range not the 15% range.

It's just something to be aware of. A matter of personality. Some ECs have more fiery personalities than others. I've seen several lower crowned ECs that are lovely (when the rest of the stuff is good on them), like I said, just something to be aware of.

I think you may FINALLY have a decent stone. And it is a 1.4 ratio that was important to you.

You've seen how hard these things are.

I suggest you get this one in person and see what you think of it before setting. And then go from there.

Thanks Gypsy!
I've seen the stone....actually compared both stones as well...it is really hard to decide which one i should choose...

OK.

Where did you see it. And what did you do while viewing it?

both were placed on separate holes for rounds in a small plexi glass with backlight on...and put the ASET cone on top...align my eye through the ASET with the stone...and took the photos by using iphone...
all this happened at the jewelry store counter...

put them in the v of your fingers and walk around and you would quickly see a difference in center brightness.
Having a diamond up in the air hides p3 issues.
You will not be wearing the diamond up in the air.

Okay so you didn't play with them and walk around with them and see them in sunlight and in the shade and then under jewelers lights and then away from the lights? And move them side to side. And so forth?

Then, it's not surprising you had a hard time picking. You need to really spend time with a stone. Take it outside (you leave your DL or something with them, and walk out with a sales person or a guard, I've done this a number of times).

Ditto. The diamond will be worn and moved around under various lighting conditions, so place them on the back of your hand and carefully walk to the window, view it under fluorescent lights and etc. Move your hand side to side slowly as well. Jewellery store lighting are carefully chosen to make even the ugliest diamond sparkle so I would not use that lighting to make the final decision.

Ah. I didn't know I can ask for those... To see the stone under different lightings
