I have been pouring over these forums trying to decide on my first pearl purchase. I really want a strand of white pearls and can't seem to settle on what type to buy, so I went for some Tahitians for now and will get the white pearls later. I ordered mine from Pearl Paradise and could not be happier! The quality was superior to what I have seen in department stores and the price was WAY lower than what the department stores are charging.
I do have a few tips for anyone who might be eyeing Tahitians from PP. Keep in mind that the website pictures are taken so as to show the best side of each pearl and the best possible color. When you see them in person they may not appear exactly as they do online. I have had my pearls for a couple of days now and find they look much lighter in direct sunlight and under flourescent lights. The look most like the pictures in indirect sunlight and that is how I think they look best. I'm trying to figure out how to walk in an indirect sunlight bubble for the rest of my life. Order from a place with a good return policy too! That was one of the things that drew me to PP. I knew I could send them back with no hassles if they did not wow me. They did wow me though and I am not sending them back. You would have to fight me to get these pearls.
Anyway, I just wanted to post a picture and a review because these forums really helped me decide what to buy. I love seeing REAL photos as they tend to look more true to life than the fancy shmancy online photos from the stores. I like having a realistic idea of what to expect.
