I Found My Ring! Insurance Question

I found my $1k rose gold pave wedding ring! It was insured and the replacement is a done deal-- it's already been ordered and paid for by my insurance company. I am planning to upgrade my $9k engagement ring to something +$20k soon and am concerned about how my reported loss will affect my premium.

Is my premium still going to go up when I declare it? :???:

I just informed Jeweler's Mutual that I found the ring and to instruct me on how to move forward. Twiddling my thumbs that my premium doesn't go up due to this lost and found situation! :???:

Please keep us posted. I am wondering how they will handle this.

Spoke with JM today and I get to decide whether I want to keep the original or the replacement.

They said the claim shouldn’t affect my premium.

Hi, how easy was it to file the claim? I lost my ring today and has only been insured for less than a year if I were to file a claim..

I’m sorry to hear about your loss. I would search high and low for your piece and if it’s still missing, contact JM and let them know you lost the ring. They will tell you how to move forward. It was a straightforward process. I was asked to submit 2 written statements describing the loss. Thankfully, I found the ring shortly and reported the finding so I did not need a replacement.

Good luck!

I had the same thing happen to me. Basically you have the choice of keeping the found ring and paying back the insurance money, or returning found ring. Appl3, good luck with finding your ring. Myself I lost in summer, was not found until following February...

Wow thank god you found it! Where did you end up finding it? I have not found mine yet...in the process of looking for a replacement.
