Considering the number of stones that should be used I''d go simple with colors - for example citrine in the middle, spessartites around it and diamonds on the edge.

Me again

Amethyst + rhodolites + diamonds

or

chrome tourmaline + tsavorites + diamonds

or

iolite + sapphires + diamonds

or

andalusite + cognac diamonds + (white) diamonds.

Over and out

Hehe.... MaRe, can''t get it out of your head, eh??

Yellow sapphire, surrounded by bezel dk spess with outer ring of red garnet

I wish he would do the legacy without diamonds, I would love to put a mint tourmaline in the middle surrounded by small mandarin spessartites.

TL, did you ask him? Maybe he will sell the ring by itself without the diamonds?

I would like to see him do more rings without so much of the accent diamonds, something thats not so delicate and so "pave-ish".

He probably would, but to have each stone set costs a fortune. The jewelers in my area aren''t cheap.

No, I''m just having my regular creativity seizure

My guess is that the diamonds are not set, but cast in place. ONe of the jewelers I sell to told me this is being done to keep the cost down.

That''s exactly what had been done to my pear surround from LOGR. It was slightly too big but my jeweller didn''t dare re-size it because of this.

I''ll take on the dare. But, first, what does "tachy" mean?

How about?: Blue sapphire + emeralds + white diamonds.

Good lord, MaRe... you should have given us a bigger warning! That is hideous, tachy to the MAX!

Not understanding what this means. Not individually set with its own prong?

Mochi, I hope you don''t think I was making fun of you. I thought you might have made up the word ''tachy.'' I make words up all the time.

I purchased a LOGR setting with bezel set side stones, and my jeweler said that while it might appear that they are securely in place, actually they were being held in by a tiny piece of metal from the bottom. I asked if I should return it, and he said no, it was fine (when I first showed it to him, I said it was a "cheap Chinese setting", so he knew), and he did go ahead and set my garnet. So, I expect that your guess is correct, Gene.

I hope this is correct - this is how my jeweller explained it to me in basic terms - The diamonds are not set individually at all. During the casting process the diamonds are set into the mould and the setting is cast around them - hence if you try to remove one or make a ring smaller/larger, it''s more difficult. It also means that you may have less metal holding the diamonds (especially if they''re pave set) which is a risk for losing stones later down the line.

And it''s Chopard, and it costs 25 million dollars

I don't care how much it costs. It's scary.

LOL! It is, I have to totally agree!

I''m still trying to figure out what it is??? A ring, broach, pendant, UFO?

I have no idea, but it looks like a face of the watch is there?

Believe it or not, it''s a wristwatch! Just google "world''s most expensive watch" and you''ll find all the specs in no time.

What a waste of diamonds
