We have found a wedding set (to replace one that was lost) at a local jeweler and I just know it's going to be gorgeous. We chose a .92, triple 0 AGS round stone, VS2 I color.

At first I thought I wanted yellow gold, mainly because that's what I had before. However, I'm really wavering now. The white gold seems more modern. I do have some other white gold diamond jewelry that I love as well, although I do love yellow also. I need to decide!!

My question is, will an I color stone look yellow-ish in a white gold setting?? If you have any pics to share of H-I-J color stones in white gold, (or platinum) that would be wonderful too. THANK YOU!

I think you will be fine with white gold or platinum. I have an I colored 1.51 carat princess stone in platinum. You can see it in my avatar. In my personal opinion I think higher colored stones look whiter in a white metal. I feel like yellow gold tends to enhance the color and warms up the stone. That can be beautiful though too. Just depends on what look you want. So IMO white gold will make the I colored stone look whiter than the yellow gold.

I think the yellow gold would actually emphasize the warmer tones of the I color, but if you're looking to display the whiteness of it you should go with the white gold, especially with the stats you posted for it.

I have a small BGD J set in sterling silver in a pendant...I see NO color at all.

I set my L color in platinum and it does not look "off" at all. It will look fine so go w/ your preference.

Here's my "I" in white gold. I have never seen a hint of color anywhere, though I did notice a difference when I compared it side by side next to an "E"...however, on it's own in a white gold or platinum setting, it should appear pretty white.

My I color princess looks great in platinum. I think yellow gold would bring out the warmer tones, so it depends what you want to do. I wanted to minimize any color.

Here's an Eightstar 1.57 ct 'I' in platinum. It looks perfectly white in platinum, so I'm sure your's will, too.

Thanks to all of you for posting pics of your beautiful jewelry! It really helps. I went with the white gold, and I am so happy and excited to see the final result in a couple of weeks! It's been a long process finding something new since I lost my set in August.
