I ordered this dress on eBay. It was listed at 249, but I made a best offer of 179 and GOT IT!!! You have to look past the wrinkles:

Jasmine Dress

You may have to scan over to the right to see the photos. I love the back of this dress!!

You may recall that I am eloping in Croatia in early June. We still have not officially booked the date, but should be this week. I''ve tried on a bunch of dresses. Found a wedding gown consignment shop about an hour from me and was able to find a bunch of possibilities. Most were store samples. Prices ranged from 300 for a Paloma Blanca to 2300 for a gorgeous silk designer gown (can''t remember the designer, but most lovely dress I have seen, and made me feel like a princess, but I just cannot justify 2300 on an elopement dress!!)

So, I know this eBay dress will require alterations, and I know it may not be THE DRESS, but for 179, I can''t go wrong. I can always try to sell it myself. But, if I do love it, which I think I might, especially if the back is as nice as I think it will be, then 179 is quite the bargain, eh? Has anyone seen this dress before?

P.S. I am bringing my dog to a vet in Boston on Thursday and am thinking of going to Bridepower (Vows Bridal Outlet) on my way back. Has anyone been to the shop?

great price! I love the detailing on the front of it.

Great find and beautiful dress!

Oh girl! You can''t get much better than that! Congrats!

The back is really gorgeous!

I haven''t been to bridepower but their website is great and I tell all of my friends about it!

What a steal!!

Oh Yay!! Thank you ladies for your feedback. I am really proud of myself for making the lower offer!! I figured it may not be the perfect dress, so if they don''t accept my offer that''s ok, but if they do, then what a steal indeed!!

When I was looking at dresses in the consignment shop, we talked a lot about modifications we would make to the dress, so I knew I''d be starting at 300 (at least) plus alterations. Now, I can start even lower than that, go to a seamstress and see what changes I''d like to make, if any.

I can''t wait to get it!

that is a steal!

Pretty and what a great deal!

It''s beautiful and looks like an awesome find!

Beautiful! I love the wide-set straps and neckline; it reminds me of something a ballerina might wear. Great buy too!

Oh, I simply love Jasmine Collection! Their dresses are truly beautiful...

You are very lucky to have this dress for such a good price! :)

I made an appointment at Bridepower for tomorrow afternoon, so I''ll be able to see their dresses in person and try some on!! Tee-hee! I may wind up with two dresses in one week!! (Not that that''s my goal, but you never what you can find out there . . . .)

And thanks to everyone who posted!! You''re making me feel better about my decision to buy without seeing!!

meant to add this to other post

Nice dress! How was your trip to Bridepower? They have other stuff like veils, right? And I hope your dog is doing well. Do you live near Boston? A friend found an awesome (and cheap) alterations lady in Arlington. She salvaged a dress that had been hacked up by another alterations lady.

Hi Swimmer! I never made it to Bridepower. It was so sad. I live 2.5 hours from Boston. I drove my doggie (the one in my pic) to see a neurologist there. He diagnosed my dog with GME, but put him on a treatment plan that should bring him into full remission. So, I'm very happy about that.

I missed my appointment with the doctor, and had to wait a few hours to be seen by him (which was very nice, most veterinary specialists would have told me to reschedule, I think), and I could not make the appointment at Bridepower. Total bummer. I called them to apologize for missing the appointment. They were very nice and suggested I look at their site, but I wanted to try on dresses. It was a miserable ride home after that, but maybe I will make the trip up there one day (before May 28th when we leave for the wedding.) Wishful thinking.

Oh, and glad your friend found a good seamstress. Here's hoping a find one who can work some magic too!!
