I did not pull the trigger on the Tiffany earrings. i dont know what to do. I dont mind spending up to 2k on the gift, but I am tapped out. I dont know where to go anymore. I am starting to panic. I wanted earrings with lots of pop to them, not necesarily diamonds. I bought her a Patek Phillepe watch in March, and I am trying to get earings of equal quality. HELP!!!!!

Not to be the grammar-police but wouldn't this mean you are NOT screwed? :Up_to_something:

HI:

Breathe deep. In and out. Then have some eggnog laced with rum. :saint:

cheers--Sharon

What kinds of earrings does she already have? (For example, diamond studs, diamond hoops, pearl studs, etc.).

Brian Gavin Diamonds had some things for sale for the holidays.

Whiteflash probably has items available for sale for situations exactly like yours, too.

There's still time to pick something and have it shipped.

This is a great example of a set of earrings she would love. However I dont have time for Leon Mege to make them before Christmass. How much do you think they are? They are stunning

I believe at Blue Nile you have 4 days to purchase loose diamonds to be set into earrings, rings, etc.

I would hardly consider you 'screwed' when you have at least a week to purchase gifts. Plenty of time for delivery if you buy online. In most instances.

Pick something today and get it shipped overnight or 2-3 days and you'll be fine. I'd get diamond studs myself but that's just me.

My wifes name is Marcy...... Studs it is!!!

I would call stores with a physical presence or with special holiday stock.
GOG, ERD, IDJewelryonline, Simglestone, Pearlmans and ask for their best deal on a pair of in stock knock your socks off earrings. Then ask for pictures to be emailed to you. You can do this in less than 2 hours and have things shipped to you overnight for Christmas delivery.

No need to stress.

And you are NOT getting those Leon earrings for anything near 2K. You will have to understand what you budget can and can't buy you. Miracles (like those Leons for 2K) are not going to happen. If I had to guess I'd say those were at least 18K.

http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-specials/closeout-jewelry/earrings/43F2/48/ These are stunning and Pearlmans has been known to help meet tight budgets on some of their 'closeout' pieces, I would call and ask if they can do these for 2K out the door including shipping for Christmas Delivery.

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/home/ring-details/?product_id=5632 These are apparently in stock as they are under the "last minute gifts section"

http://idjewelryonline.com/product_info.php?cPath=32_80&products_id=6424 They are blingy.

You misunderstand. I dont mind spending $ on world class watches and jewelry. I just decided since world class in not happening in 7 days, $2 was my limit on "nice" jewelry. However, I was thinking closer to 6-8k on those. Maybe I am nuts.

I am looking hard at these. Thanks

Ahh... okay. You said "I'm tapped out" and i assumed you meant that your budget tapped out at 2K.

And i'm with MZ, they are nice earrings but not when compared to what you wanted.

IF you do have the budget and want "world class" but in stock here are a few pieces that you can consider. These should be in stock at Pearlmans just waiting for money to release them into your care.

You have come to the right place! :wavey: We love to "shop" with other people's money!

These are nice dangle pearl earrings:

These are more wearable, stunning for everyday, nice for formal, best in the biggest size:

Does she already have a strand of black pearls?

Black pearls Under your budget, so you can get earrings too, for a BIG SPLASH!

I've ordered from this vendor, ask for Jose, he does a really great job. If you decide on earrings AND a necklace (lucky woman!) Jose, who's a GIA pearls grad, can match the set for you and customize the earrings. I bought golden pearls from Jose, and I took them to my appraiser and he was awed. He said they would easily retail 4X what I paid for them. They actually look nicer in RL than they do on the website. If you order them by Sunday, I bet you get them by Tues-Wed, no problem. Nice packaging, full guarantee, certificate.

Whatever you DO end up buying, you realize you owe us PSer's a full report with pictures, right? :naughty:

after viewing some of the other links, i think the one i posted is a bargain at $5k!

although i admit that the one pair at $140,000 that gypsy posted is killer!

Give us more details about your wife. Age? Style of dress? Fave colors? From the earrings you were eyeing I'd guess she was 50+ and extremely conservative.

or ultra elegant.......

Interesting! I was going to guess lawyer (or judge)! Well... she does like the classics. I think it might have been the cluster earrings that threw me off age-wise, as I think of those cluster sapphire types as A) being reminiscent of Lady Di's e-ring .... and B) "button"y. They may be all the rage again with the reuse of that ring in the new royal engagement.

Does she already own diamond studs or pearl studs? A very classic, wearable earring might be worn WAY more often than either of the two gemstone selections you've posted.

Asscher studs might be a nice combo with her engagement ring, though they would be difficult to keep sparkling clean on the ear like that, with hairspray/gloss etc.

Honestly ... I contact Whiteflash or BGD and ask for shared prong huggy hoops made from their super ideal diamonds. That's about 2K if I recall correctly. You'd get a lot of bling for the buck ... its a classic style .... no limits to outfits to pair it with based on a certain color stone.

I think you should stick with something a little more conservative and appropriate for every day wear...I really think you should go with either pearl or diamond studs...classic, elegant, and appropriate for wearing to the office. I don't think dressy dangles will fit her lifestyle as well. I really like the pearls ilander suggested, classic with a bit of bling.

Eta: Just saw the diamond huggies...I think those are a great idea!!

I am absolutly going with one you all have recomended. You will have to wait for pics to see what I chose. Please keep sending recomendations, I might change my mond. One question with earrings, Platinum or White gold? What is your preference? Why do you guys like Whiteflash so much? thanks

i like the last 2 that decodedlighted posted....would go with that lovely emerald cut diamond very well.

MoZo
