to be set in a 4 prong classic style men''s ring in 14 k white gold. unable to find an H color stone, but there''s a couple of I VS2 at GOG. my question is, since the Pavillion will be below eye view , will an I color be visible from the top view? actually, the best deal that GOG has is an 3.34 ct H SI1, but I am worried about all those inclusions, all 3 of the stones have excellent HCA scores. and all 3 are 1A cut, according to ACA ,any adivce? wich one would you pick ? but my first choice is still an H VS2 2.75 ct

I am not sure you will tell the difference betwen H and I faceup. But any two neighbour grades will be in the same situation - barely distinguishable... This does not mean that one can endlessly compromise.

Are you familiar with what these color grades look like?

This is a very nice selection. It would be hard to tell wether the inclusions in the SI stone are obvious and, worse, wether you will see them as a detraction or not.

That 3.34 is indeed a bargain for a H-SI1.

I understand your worries about the eye-clean-ness of the stone. Just ask Jonathan. You can trust his correctness.

As for the difference between H and I, there is a huge difference between a good H and a bad I, and a minimal difference or maybe none between a bad H and a good I. But this is from the point of view of colour-grading, through the pavilion.

Once again, just ask Jonathan's idea about these stones. He has the stones with him, he is the only one who can give a decent answer.

Live long,

Paul
