How to measure an asscher for setting?

I would think you measure whichever areas the prongs would be, so if the prongs would be in the corners, you would measure that way. But let an expert say for sure to be safe.

See my profile picture for a classic three stone setting. GIA is measured horizontally and vertically, not diagonally...Horizontal measurement also allows you an idea of your finger coverage.

Corner flat to corner flat for prongs not the gia measurements.
It will be larger than the gia numbers.
