Hi All
Well....the proposal happened yesterday, finally. A quick recap, I floundered around the Internet and B&M''s searching for an engagement ring, I stumbled upon Pricescope, learned a ton of information about diamonds, posted my ideas, CAD''s, solicited valued input and feeback, purchased the ring from WF, and then had to wait until yesterday to propose.
My girlfriend was expecting a proposal next year as we agreed to get married in the Fall of 2010 however I had been planning this surprise proposal all along. The process from the time I found Pricescope till yesterday took four months and was so well worth the wait.
We live in Houston and this past Sunday we flew to Southern Vermont. Yesterday, I took my fiance up Mount Snow to the top of the mountain. (Thank God the sun was shining.) We were literally the only ones on the mountaintop (the chairlift was open due to July 4th weekend), I took some standard scenic mountain view pics, walked her over to a grassy setting (which we soon left due to the gnats), found a place a few yards away on a rocky little trail, had her pose for some "standard pics" so I could set the timer on the camera, pulled out a 1" thick book that contained a two page love letter, a 5 page summary of what led us to this moment, and then approximately 50 pages of every email to/from WF and every thread/post/comments that occured on Pricescope as I solicited ya''lls ideas and input.
My fiance thought the book was the romantic part but I only let her read the first two pages (the love letter). When she finished those two pages I pulled out the two foot long fishing wire, tired it to her ring finger, pulled out the ring box from my pocket, and proposed. It was a perfect proposal!!!!! To say she was shocked would be an understatement. IShe absolutely LOVED the ring and thought it was perfectly her!!!..and thank god again that it fit perfectly also. I let her read the rest of the book after the proposal. She is finally sitting next to me as I type this, no more hidden visits to Pricescope!!
Thanks to all, again, for your assistance.
Here are 9 pictures that encapsulate the proposal. My fiance didnt want me to post the pics where she is crying but I told her PS''ers like to "see the ring moment". She relented.......and greatly appreciates ya''ll steering me into a fantastic ring purchase. (She just told me to type that...)
Here are the pics, give me a few minutes to get them all posted. I will add your comments to her keepsake book for the final chapter in the ring purchase process. Thanks Everyone!!!
