How to file insurance claim for lost diamond

This afternoon I noticed my main diamond had fallen out of my engagement ring. I was in the supermarket earlier, but am pretty sure I remember looking at my ring on the way home. We've turned the house upside down and can't find it. I do have my ring insured and I called but they're not there on Sunday.

Does anybody know how a replacement works? Do they give me the money the diamond was insured for or send me to a jeweler?
It is insured on my homeowner's insurance through High Point Insurance.

I'm going to keep searching my house, but it's not looking good.

Hey JerseyGirl... first I want to say I'm sorry you lost your stone. I know the feeling. I lost one of my diamond studs. I called my insurance company and an adjuster came out and talked with me. She asked me a bunch of questions and told me that either they would replace the stone, they were certified studs, with one that was similar to what I lost, or send me a check. So they can do either, I guess. I ended up getting a check for what was lost. Good luck and maybe, just maybe you'll find it!!!!
