How should I clean a platinum e-ring?

While the steam blaster at GOG got this diamond nice and clean when I purchased it, I don't exactly have one here at home. Apart from an annual professional re-polish, what should I do at home to clean up the platinum and the diamond? My future fiance has some old electronic jewelry cleaners, but I suspect that only really works well for gold. Are there any home jewelry cleaners (electronic or otherwise) that are effective and safe? Likewise, if I were to swing by a mall jeweler would it be safe to have them run it through their ultrasonic cleaner?

you can clean with baby toothbrush, dishwashing liquid, and hot water. as far as at-home cleaners, I have a jewel jet and i think it works well

Dawn detergent + baby toothbrush + warm water really gets my diamond sparkling like crazy.

If I'm looking for a deeper clean I'll mix Dawn, windex, and hot water in a bowl and soak the ring in the mixture beforehand. Haven't tried an ultrasonic cleaner since my band has pave, but I've heard they work great. You can buy one through Amazon. Good luck!

I have the jewel jet too, and I love it. I pre soak my rings in dish washing liquids, scrub with a baby toothbrush, let it soak in hot filtered water, then dry it off with the jewel jet.

The Jewel Jet looks awesome, but might have to wait on it due to counterspace and budgetary reasons. Does it get jewelry noticably cleaner vs the toothbrush/dish soap method?

Toothbrush & dish soap work well and the trick is to dry the ring after. White tissue (like the kind you use for wrapping gifts) is the best at drying a diamond b/c it doesn't leave any lint on the stone.

I don't have a home cleaner but have found that none of the home methods work as well as the mall, but if your stone is VERY dirty, even the mall won't be able to clean all the gunk off. Sometimes a stone needs a scrub especially if it gets clogged with lotion.

ditto this. I dry my ring with a paper towel. regular towels are terrible because they leave dust and sometimes lint gets stuck on the prongs.
