I would prefer that this be limited to consumers only but if the vendors want to comment or clarify something feel free.
I feel we need to hold the vendors to a very high standard and no one should get shouted down for pointing something out that isn’t quite perfect about the specs or the images.
The arguments that the image doesn’t 100% reflect the diamond is not valid because they are presented as such and used as a sale tool.
We need to keep the heat on so that the vendors provide the best images possible that match what the person would see in person.
We know it is possible to do so because several vendors do so and yes they all slip up once in a while but its our responsibility to the PS community to point it out and have them correct it.
If something about the image isn’t right they have the right to produce another image for consideration if they don’t then we have to assume the original is accurate and base our comments on that.
We need to make sure that the buyer is aware of any issues such as things that will affect durability and appearance.
For example I will continue to comment on any girdle less than thin and the durability issues surrounding it then it is up to the buyer to make an informed decision on whether the rest of the diamond and the price out weigh the possibility of damage.
Same with open inclusions.
Same with H&A either it is or it isn’t and we need to keep the heat on here, it would be different if there was no price difference but as long as they are marketed as premium diamonds we need to keep our standards high.
If a vendor gets upset because their diamond got slammed a little tough that is the price of admission here. Meet the standards that you market them as or get your diamonds slammed that for me is the bottom line.
