For a nose stud?

depends on your style and lifestyle

35 year old corporate lawyer - too old
65 year old yoga instructor - not too old

JMO :D

36 year old postal clerk?

Hahah!

Does your job define you? That's kind of what I was going for :D

I don't know about your uniform code, but if you can rock the stud and the postal gear, go for it!

Outside of work, all I can say, is be yourself and eff the haters.

I hate my job lol. I stand in front of machines all night. I'm torn, I have a couple of unset stones that would make lovely nose rings, but...would it look weird with my face/age/greying hair?

My 80yo grandmother has one. So does my 65yo grandmother. In fact... pretty much every woman of my parents generation and previous, and most of mine, have one. My mother used to have one, but took her stud out and it healed, and she hasn't had it re-pierced. I don't have one, but that's only because I don't like my nose.

Granted, they're in a different country. But still! No such thing ::)

Thanks Yssie!

Was wondering, because this is my (very) sunburned face in the middle.
(Nose too big?)

Wow reader, your skin is gorgeous! even sunburnt ;))

And I think a teeny nose stud like your companion's would be adorable on you :))

The companion was my then 16 year old. She will be 18 in May. Thank you for the compliments on my skin, roseacea usually has it some shade of red, and its about time to get another round of laser treatments. It has gotten less irritating!

(The guy in the photo is John, my coimelin.)

I thought she might be your daughter. proximity + eyeshape. would've been an embarrassing mistake though :halo:

eta: coimelin? googling.

Elf Sternberg...translates roughly into "Love of my lifetime". John never really wanted a relationship with me, and then realized that there was one there. Its a long, complicated and pretty love story. John is also an Aspie, and has a pretty unique way of looking at everything.

Reader, I think you and your daughter could pass for sisters, and you do have gorgeous skin. I have a nose-stud, and I love it. Go for it; if you don't like it, they close up pretty quickly anyways.

If you want it and can rock it, you're never too old for that. ;))

(Originally I was going to say "you're never too old for anything," but that's not actually true. There comes a point at which people probably should stop wearing belly shirts.)

Wow ditto! I thought that it was a picture with you and your friends!!! You look amazing. I think that anyone can get away with it if they have the attitude to carry it!

I used to have 9 piercings and loved them all. Then I became a lawyer and I had to take some out. But I do not regret getting a single one of them. Go for it. You have a gorgeous complexion.

You're too old when you personally become embarrassed by your nose stud. If you love it then rock it!

I personally have no opinion on whether people should have a nose ring or not - I'd like my friends the same either way. You do not look old enough to have a 16yr old daughter though!

It's all about confidence. If you're unsure, then maybe a nose stud wouldn't be for you.

That said, you have beautiful skin! You could easily pull off a nose stud! Have fun if you get one!

What's an "aspie"?

Personally, I think nose rings/studs look stupid on everyone. Sorry :((

I believe it refers to someone with Asperger syndrome.

I had my nose pierced a few years ago. It hurt like hell, never healed up and gave me no end of trouble. However, if it had healed up nicely I would still be wearing it now and I am 39. Its all about who you are and your attitude to life. If you are young minded you can get away with almost anything. And you look so young I doubt anyone thinks you are in your 30's anyway!

Its odd, I hear that I am every age from 30, to mid 50s. John does have Asperger's syndrome. For example, I mentioned wanting to go to the PS GTG in Toronto, he said: "Great, when do we get my passport card?" "But, I'll be hanging out with girls, talking girl stuff, and going to Tiffany's" "That's fine, sounds like fun, you weren't going to leave me at home, were you?"

I will make note with Maisie - They are VERY HARD to get to heal for many people. My sister had one, it took forever to heal, then when it finally did, it got ripped out in the ocean. :((

I don't think there's an age limitation: my best friend's mom has a nose piercing, and it looks fabulous on her. She wears turquoise and amethyst studs, garnets and diamonds (she loves Venus by Maria Tash), and the question of age just never arises. She looks like a beautiful, classy, quirky lady with a style all her own. I say, go for it!

Hi Reader, I think you can totally rock it! Your daughter is grown, your single and dating....JUST DO IT!

I was contemplating getting one myself. I'm 37 with kids (8 and 6). I think if I got mine pierced in my teens or 20's no one would think anything of it, but I think if I went and got one now, It'll raise a few eyebrows. Not necessarily at work (I work for a very liberal beverage company), but at the kids' school, church, I'd feel a little weird.

Personally not a fan, no offense to anyone who does have them. Just think they are more of a teeny-bopper thing....

This *may* be a moot point, it looks like I might have a shot at a job in my office that I have been trying to get since 1999. No facial piercings allowed I'm afraid...

Reader- I say, if you want it- go for it. Those that mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind. :) Go on with your bad self. ;)
